We were heading to Florida and needed a rest. We searched the hotel near the highway, this hotel came out. For the affordable price, the location and service were excellent. However, the cleanness of the location needs improvement. For the price we pay, it was overall good.

The whole hotel needs updated. The room I stayed in was clean, but dated.
Also you need an elevator for people who have trouble with steps. The pool should have been emptied of water, as it was December. The water in it was green and terrible to look at.
The staff was friendly, especially the man who checked us in.

Nice hotel to stay at on a friendly budget. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and the hotel offers free continental breakfast which was a big plus. I would stay there again and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay at a reasonable priced hotel.

Well the place is cheap for a reason. Sam is the guy that checked us in and he was nice except he gave us a room that was already occupied. The hallways were dirty, smelled like weed. The mattresses were terrible, super sunken in the middle. It was not a good experience. We will spend more to stay somewhere else next time. Can’t control the volume of guests but you could hear everything in the hallway and adjacent room. Place was noisy, we barley slept. It was terrible.

Pretty good and clean
I would give this place a 3.8/5 stars. the outside of the building was pretty run down especially compared to the two. Other hotels in the same parking parking lot. The inside had a bad cigarette smell, but the lobby was clean. The carpets in the hallway were pretty stained. When we opened the door, the hotel was pretty decent. But the carpet was pretty outdated. The bathroom was nice. Except the shower that had a whole punched in the wall but it was a walk-in so that was nice. The toilet in the shower were an ugly yellow. The TV was an LG, which was really nice and I watched Friends so bonus points. you had to request housekeeping and you also had to go up to the desk for toilet paper and anything you need replenished which was a con because we were there for three nights. the king size bed was lovely and a very nice headboard. The sheets were clean, but the blanket on top had a yellow stain. The chair had a stain on the seat, but was pretty comfortable if you put a blanket on it. The guy was super nice who checked us in. The continental breakfast was nice. It had really good sausage patties, eggs, toast, muffins, waffles, that you made yourself, yogurt, apple juice, orange juice, fruit, juice, and a mini coffee station. Overall it was nice and right across from Carowinds which was why we were there.

My family and I have stayed here twice now. Both times the checkin staff was either weird or not friendly. The hotel is old and it shows, but worth the price. Breakfast is great!

Passing thru!
The hotel lobby was a treat! Sat there by the fireplace before we left. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were sweet! If in this area again we would definitely stay here again!

We arrived later than we wanted to but we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman at the front desk. Every staff member that we encountered was very friendly. They did a great job keeping the breakfast counter-filled and clean.
The bed was comfy and the room was clean. The hallway had an odd smell but other than that the hotel was very clean. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Carowinds.

Needs A Good Renovation
The Hotel is just run down, even missing electrical outlet covers in the rooms. The mattresses need to be replaced as they slump in the middle and the most uncomfortable nights sleep. Carpets in the hallways need a good clean and the stairways could use a lot of touch ups! Overall, Hotel has a very musky smell.

Served it’s purpose but wouldn’t stay again
The front desk rep was very nice but the hotel overall was pretty gross. The shower head sprayed water everywhere except in the shower. The beds were super rigid around the edges of the mattress but the middle was sunken in. The rooms had paper thin walls and you could hear every sound all night from laughter to doors opening and closing.

The room was outdated but did seem reasonably clean. Step out in halls and it didn’t feel as clean. People had trash bags outside their doors. Stairwell smelled terrible and had stomped on French fries on the stairs half the day and the next day

There was hair and dirt inbetween the sheets, the a/c had mud caked all in vents, the floor had not been vaccumed. We had no smoke detector hooked up in the room. The hallways were filthy with dirt and trash all against the walls. The stairs going upstairs looked like it has never been cleaned. The lobby looked updated and had a good breakfast. Would not recommend

The hallways had wet paint and the floors were wet all day being refinished in places you had to walk and there were chemical smells everywhere. They said that the pool hadn't been clorinated in weeks so it was chemical free. I managed an apartment complex with a pool. That is so unsanitary and unsafe. The room was humid and had an odd, unpleasant smell when the AC was running. Especially in a shared pool that children use. The people were nice enough but they don't tell you any of that when you check in.

The check in clerk was a little gruff. His accent was thick so I could not understand everything he was saying and he seemed annoyed with that. The renovations were a little off setting, but the room was clean and the breakfast was pleasant. I would stay again.

Really bad condition.
Got to the hotel late (after midnight). Immediately found all sorts of issues with the hallways and room. Hallways were dirty and carpet worn. When we got to the room, we found trash on the floor, the comforter and sheets had some sort of red stains on them, the toilet tank lid was broken and duct-taped together, sink had no stopper, outlets were loose on the wall,they had hangers did not fit rod to hang them on, the smoke detector was hanging off the wall, the fridge did not look defrosted for a couple years, and the do not disturb sign was taped to the door. We tried to call, but the phone was unplugged (plugged it in and still did not work). The clerk offered us a different room, but they were not in much better condition and there was no elevator for my wife to use. At 1:30am we decided to stay but cancel our second night (which they authorized). We were then billed by the hotel for the second night and still waiting for a refund. We got it because of the proximity to Carowinds and the price. I would never stay there again. On the bright side, the breakfast was really good!

Room was filthy with hair all over the shower and stains on furniture
Pool was not running and was murky- staff told different stories about how long it was down and assured us it was clean, but you could not see the bottom and there were clumps of hair all over. A chlorine tablet was out on the pool tech and cigarette butts were all over outside as well.
Doors into the hotel did not lock at all, and our room did not have a smoke detector.
We only stayed one night because it was too late to move with our children after a full day of travel- checked out the next morning ASAP and moved to a different hotel for the rest of our stay.

First, the positive. The housekeeping crew was excellent, and was very attentive. The staff was also very friendly at the front desk. The breakfast was also generous for the price of the hotel.
The negatives - the room, from the time we walked in, had a general dampness to it. It wasn’t wet, just extremely humid in the room. It caused us to keep the AC on lower than normal, because turning it to a higher increased the humidity exponentially. The bathroom needed a complete overhaul, and a significant deep clean. Black specks were in the water out of the sink, and the bathtub was in general disrepair. The pool, despite the employees saying it was being “cleaned” multiple times, was full of trash, both natural and man made. The pool area was also in a general state of disrepair, and needs a significant overhaul. The side and back doors to the hotel are not locked/do not require a room key to get in despite there being a scanner at both. The tv remote did not work, but I didn’t attempt to have it fixed. The chairs in the room were very uncomfortable and small. The desk chair, upon sitting in it and leaning back, almost toppled me over backwards. There was no stopping the momentum.
Overall, the friendly staff was not enough to save the hotel experience. 2.5/10

We had to switch rooms after the first night. The first room we stayed in had mold, smelled terrible and the floors were black after walking on them. Our socks were covered in filth. After we moved rooms it was a little better but it still smelled awful and overall was very disappointing.

Limited options for breakfast. A/C did not work in our room which we complained about and was placed in a new room but the new room was not any better. Room was not clean. There were stains on the carpet and dark mold in the bathroom.

A pleasant surprise!
I wasnt sure about the area, but its across the street from the park which is VERY convenient! The price at $158 for 2 nights in a king size bed room was great! It was clean and quiet! Only noise outside of doors closing were the fireworks from Carowinds. The staff was very friendly, accomodating, and helpful. We will definitely stay again!

Matt, the 2nd shift front desk attendant was super nice and helpful. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was just what we needed before a day at Carowinds. Beds were soft and comfortable. I hate firm mattresses, and the mattress and pillows were perfect for me. Would stay here, again.

Staff is friendly and efficient. The room is spacious, comfortable and clean. The free breakfast is good. We have stayed here before and will do so again. It’s great for an overnight stay on our trip down south and at a good price!

Nasty and not honest management
This place was very nasty. I found stuff on the carpet that look like puke, toilet had duck tape holding the lid together, pieces was falling of the wall. After I saw all this I went back up front and demanded my money back! The manager is telling hotels.com that I stayed there 4 hours and they are not refunding me ! I was there less than 30 mins and can prove it by time stamps at check in , pictures and phone call to hotel.com . It’s almost been a month and I still have not received a refund! Never again will I ever think about a Quality inn!!!

Over-night stay after Carowinds
Just right for the money. We needed a simple and comfortable one-night stay after Winterfest at Carowinds. BTW, Winterfest is GREAT! Comfortable beds, hot shower, and decent breakfast. Staff was polite and friendly.

Check in was smooth and friendly but slow. Hallways in hotel were unvacuumed. Once in our room tile floor was dirty and crumbs and dust in corner. Bed cover was stained. Bathroom sink was dirty, looked like it was toothbrushing spit -- gross. Toilet had hair on the back lip. Towels was stained.
Stayed there because reviews had it marked as a clean hotel. Would have driven a few more miles if the reviews were more truthful.

Rooms were clean and roomy. Breakfast was good. Staff is always nice and helpful. Stayed there once before and will stay again. Need remotes that are designed for the cable service so you have a guide and don't have to hunt for something to watch. Soda machines were empty both times I stayed.

Not what I expected.
Overall it was ok. Not what I expected. No elevator and the glass door was broken coming from outside on the side of the pool. Had plastic on the door, which had a hole in it. Anyone from the outside could have gotten access from the outside. Guy at the front desk during the evening wasn't very professional. On a personal call and using foul language. Did not expect no housekeeping during my stay. Had to ask for towels.

The housekeepers didn’t clean up in my room for 3 days. I kept requesting the service that I need to clean another towels, sheets and pillow case for the next day. So they did provide me for twice a time.

There are no elevators. My husband is a retired disabled vet and it was difficult for him to go up and down the stairs.
My son was so looking forward to getting in the pool, it was not open.

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The only problem we had was the water was warm the first nite to take a shower. However the next day we had hot water. We were surrounded by restaurants. We were close to walking distance to Carowinds. Would definitely book again☺

Was booked the wrong room. I did not originally received the room I picked. I had difficulties throughout my whole booking. It was no fault of the hotel's they did very well to accommodate the websites errors. Once everything was settled i had a good time.

We could not brush our teeth because the drains were clogged both in the sink and the tub. It was late at night, they did offer to move us however my daughter was already asleep. I fixed the tub drain myself, at least enough to allow us to brush teeth. Setting that aside, the folks were nice, and the lobby was nice. The room felt gross, the phone was literally untouchable so dirty. Very disappointed.

We use this hotel as it was right by Carowinds Amusement park. The room we had first assigned to us had roaches. The clerk then switched our room and everything was good. They were very nice about the switch.

I did lole the ease of check in. Pool was not open but also green feom algae. Very unheslthy. Morning was a bit uncanny. Staff seemed to not have any direcrion, very distracted. Overall disappointing.

The three rooms we experienced were smelly, like moth balls, and very out of date. The toilets were rusty and one flooded before we left. The worst room had mold on the bed skirts and drapes, and the bathtub had cracks in the bottom. I would never stay here again. The lobby area was the only nice part.

Most rundown property in the area. Seems like the lobby was redone exclusively for pictures for travel sites. Rest of property very rundown. Shower head was very close to wall and didnt move so you had to straddle the faucet and stand against the wall to get clean. Daytime staff was very rude when we tried to precheck in. Mattress seemed to be older, had weird ink marks on one corner, slightly sunken but sufficient for 1 night stay. It served its purpose but we wouldnt come back.
