I wish they specified that there was construction on the property. It was a pretty big surprise when we got in. The AC was soooo loud. When we turned it off, the room got super hot. And then when we turned the AC on, it was cooler but hard to sleep cuz it’s so loud. And the AC would turn on and off itself throughout the night, so if we ended up falling asleep while it was quiet, we’d wake up again when it turned on. Vicious cycle.

Wait until they finish remodeling!
We arrived to discover that the hotel is finishing up a renovation cycle — the rooms are mostly done, but missing an easy chair; the lobby has noisy construction all day; and the parking lot is being resurfaced. The end result will be worth it, I’m sure. But the goody bag with a few pieces of candy did not make up for the inconvenience!

Excellent hotel, but it is undergoing a major renovation, so some of the public areas are covered in plastic and under construction. Still very nice, just be prepared if you're wanting everything perfect for a romantic getaway.

Staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Downs Grove
The hotel was being remodeled so not in 100% clean condition in the halls and common areas. Very good breakfast for the cost of the stay. The rooms were clean and the front desk service was friendly during check in and check out. I would stay here again.

at first I thought I had stepped into the wrong hotel altogether because I had never had such a poor experience at a Holiday Inn Express before. The rooms have no curtains whatsoever, the TV did not work and someone else's hairs were in my sheets. This hotel should be condemned.

Overall, this is a nice property as most of this brand are. Upon check-in for my three night stay, I noticed a gentleman leaving the first floor room next to mine with a large plastic pump sprayer. I was wondering if there was an insect problem. That night, at 1:30 in the morning, there were ants in my bed, and all over the corner in the room. The front desk clerk was kind and apologetic, and moved me to the only available room on the property, due to a last-minute cancellation. Otherwise I would’ve been stuck with the ants or would’ve had to find another hotel. The room on the third floor was actually nicer. It felt like the carpets in the hallways were newer, and that there was fresh paint. The room was clean, and the bed and linens were all good. There was some construction work going on behind the building that was likely the cause of the insect activity right behind the hotel. I was not offered any type of discount or anything beyond the apology from the front desk regarding having ants in my bed.

They recently had a water loss and never mentioned one thing about it until arrival. Could smell mold and visible water damage to the bathroom door in my room. Hallways were a mess too

Property appeared to be undergoing a renovation, so I can excuse some of the areas not being super clean, but for the most part, the entire property smelled musty and old. The room itself was fine, but the property needs some attention.

Still under construction. Bathrooms a bit small and shower fixture is a bit weird. Microwave and coffee machine combination with refrigerator needs an extension cord to properly use upper shelf.

It’s a good price and the rooms themselves are pretty good. They are clean and recently renovated. The actual hotel is out of date but I think they are doing renovations. Breakfast was good too

There was no light when walking in the hotel room.
The shower had no curtians or any doors so that water dosent go everywhere.
There were exposed wires on the lights.
With all these issues, this is a huge safety issue and a huge concern for me and my kids.

Have stayed here 3 times. Our room was filthy, no elevator this time, no towels just wash clothes none brought up. Breakfast was not as it uad been in past. Juices tastes like water, sausage turke and other were not fully warmed. We had enjoyed staying here on other occasions, did not expect it to be a luxury hotel but had expected that they remain on par with what we experienced in the past. Very disappointed, I dont know what had happened here. Spoke with other guests that held same opinion. Probably will not stay here when we return for our next job. Highly disappointed.

They had me booked for a handicap room on the 2nd floor but no working elevator. Moved me to the 1st floor. The room smelled like smoke. The garbage can by the desk was full, not emptied from the previous guest. There was no hand soap in the bathroom to wash your hands.

Basic consistent hotel with good breakfast
I've used this hotel numerous times when traveling for business. It's handy and consistent. Usually everything in the room works and is clean and the breakfast is usually complete.
This time the breakfast was more complete than ever - one of the best selections I've seen in a hotel.
They now use all bottled soaps instead of bars and mine did not work, so I asked for housekeeping to fix it and they did not, so the person at the counter gave me a small bottle of liquid body wash. It was O.K. - just wish they'd go back to bar soap instead of pump bottles that break.

My family and I had a 4 days stay and we were very happy with the service provided. Room was big and clean. Both beds were very comfortable with pillow choices of soft and hard. Breakfast was basic but was all we needed to start our day. Location was great with many shopping and dinner options. Parking was available. Front desk staff was nice and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Guest service reps were helpful & kind. The property is going through renovations somewhat recently. The main flooring & finishings looked dated, but our room was more modern. Our room was clean & inviting. There could have been more room in the bathroom, but it wasn't horrible. The breakfast was disappointing. Most things were stale and/or out of ingredients (ex. pancake maker was out) and the employee handling breakfast services was asleep at one of the tables in the back. Overall though, we had a nice, clean stay, and would stay here again.

Great holiday stay!
The hotel staff were terrific, very friendly and concerned about our satisfaction. The room could have used more light inside the door, but otherwise it was great. The shower needs some work on the spout. It didn’t want to shut off. The free breakfast was probably the best I've ever had!

The staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful. It’s a non smoking property but our room reeked of cigarette smoke. When I complained about it they offered us air freshener. The hot tub in our room was dirty. So I had to clean it out before use.

The bedding was dirty and bugs were crawling on us. We were moved into another room at 12:30am. We expected a full refund or at least half off our stay due to the inconvenience and unsanitary sleeping conditions. Never experienced anything like this!

The staff was very nice and accommodating. The room was clean. They are renovating the rooms so there was new furniture, carpet, bathtub, etc. My only complaint was that my husband went downstairs to get me some breakfast and some guy in the kitchen told him that all guests must eat breakfast in the dining area. He was also rude about it.

The beds slept good, the cleaning service needs to be in proved they cut alot of CORNERS, had to make them change the sheets, they cleaned the floor with one of the face trowels REALLY THEY NEED A WHOLE NEW CLEANING CREW , BREAKFAST WAS OK DECENT THE MAN THEY HAVE RUNNING THE KITCHEN DOESN'T KEEP UP WITH THE SUPPLYS FOR THE CONDIMENTS LIKE BUTTER,BERRYS ORANGE JUICE THAT HE NEEDS TO LET THE MANAGER KNOW AND PLEASE GET THOSE SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS OF THE TABLE IT SHOULD BE SMALL PACKAGES.

Some how the fruit flies or gants are entering the room soo u cant get comfortable or eat in yur room for swinging at these flying bugs beds are comfortable, BUT I CAN'T STAY IN A HOTEL WITH A FLYING BUG PROBLEM 😕

My wife notice a long blonde hair between the sheets indicating the sheets may not have been changed from prior guest.

Comfort at Holiday Inn Express.
Our over night stay was wonderful. Our room was so comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious. I only wish that breakfast hours were until 10:00. I would stay at this hotel again. Also, the price right.

Not The Best Experience
This hotel is older an tired ive stayed there a total of three time first time was right after opened 80/90's it was nice second time was last year was not clean broken glass and liter all around this time around which is my last bath and sink drains really slow no iron in the room and hair blow dryer should be reinstalled or replaced. Maybe little things but the place needs a serious make over!

Had several issues with check-in. The 3 rooms were already paid when we arrived. After the $50 incidental was paid on one room, we noticed they had charged the card for the full price of the room also. We went to the front desk and resolved the issue, only to find that it had been charged again the following morning. I book rooms quite often, and have never had this happen. It is quite frustrating that it happened a second time, as I showed the front desk the receipt with the rooms paid in full.

Very disappointed with the room, not like expected, the shower area the water get stuck when you are taking your shower. You ask the maid give extra toilet paper and kleenex and doesn’t even put it in your room. Got overcharged for an extra day and the worse I paid in expedia for a pmt in advance before coming to property. The lady at the counter desk very not welcoming and very cold. Doesn’t want to help you with the problem. Last time I will book here. The worse I stayed there for 6 nights. Really not safe. We didn’t feel safe. The people in the hotel that stays there are all kind of people. Only convenient thing is the restaurants around you and the stores and a close mall.

The printers were out 3 days, the Saturday night group of veterans sitting out front on curb drinking cases of beer. Requested a plunger and no response for 40 minutes had to cancel for a meeting and pick up later.

Terrible accomodations from the hotel
I booked the hotel and they will charge me half the booking for cancel reservation. But then they book my room for somebody else and leave my family hanging because they overbooked themselves. Room had terrible smoking smells and the manager won't admit the fault. I booked 2 queens for 4 but they replaced the room for a king and a sofa bed because they ran out of room, while I booked it 2 weeks ago. There was really no compensation for it and we just had to deal with the uncomfortable sofa bed instead. This is my last time here, the owner seems to have a bad practice with the guests.

I stayed at this property several years ago and found it to be just fine and a good value. This trip was terrible. No one was at the front desk when I arrived. I waited 10 minutes before an employee arrived. There were 3 people behind me who had been waiting as long. I will not stay at this property again.

The photos make this hotel look much better than it actually is. The condition of the room and the service didn't live up to our expectations of a Holiday Inn Express. The breakfast was pretty disappointing because for some reason only one person was there to run the entire kitchen, despite the hotel being packed. I would recommend looking elsewhere in the area
