Just a regular inexpensive room. But it was clean and well maintained. Not much to say about the landscaping, but it was inexpensive place to stay. I mostly just like that it doesn't cost much money and was clean.

Great motel, as expected for an Econo Lodge. Rooms were clean, lobby was clean, staff was very friendly. No complaints, booked our next weekend to VT before we left!

“Non-smoking” room smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. Multiple cigarette burns in the comforter. Refrigerator was filthy. They offered a room change but not a refund option. I opted to get a room elsewhere.

This was not the worst place I have ever stayed but the room smelled like cigarettes and it was old and in serious need of renovation. It could be really nice and an asset to the community considering its proximity to a major university. The staff was friendly. Please make your coffee stronger!!!!

The tub, toilet, and sink had visible dirt and mirror had spit residue. Towels were missing and the ones my husband brought back stunk like smoke as did the room. The floors were dirty. Dusty lamps, stained chairs, scraped paint. Just rundown. Also online said started at $90. We had to pay $250! On the other hand, Bed linens looked and smelled clean. Food was stated to be continental breakfast and it was. Included hard boiled eggs and yogurt.
Honestly would not ever stay here again.

They put us in a room that the door wouldn't close all the way. We couldn't lock the door. It was a place to lay our heads but not much more than that.

The property was terrible. The mold smell hit you in the face, could barely breathe. the shower filled with water when you used it. The bedding was awful. I do not recommend. I would have preferred to sleep in the car.

Our first room assigned was musty/moldy. Crawling insect and visible debris on the floor and mattress pad was dirty. We got a different room that was hard to access by key card. Breakfast and accommodation NOT as advertised. Can't believe it's AAA approved.

Nice hotel for the price point. Rooms tastefully renovated. I appreciated always being able to find parking right outside my room. The breakfast is basic but will do in a pinch. Staff really friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The only downside - I visited for a couple of days in July and one of the big reasons I selected this hotel over an other, was the advertised amenity of an outdoor swimming pool. Upon arrival, I was informed that the pool was closed. Not for the day - it was still tarped from the winter - indicating to me no intention in opening any time soon.

Better than average for EconoLodge; nice big rooms that were clean and quiet; breakfast selection much better than usual-pancakes and waffles pre-made in ziplock bags; instant oatmeal;muffins; coffee and juice.

The property is showing some wear and tear. Also, the property claims to be pet friendly, but we were charged $15/night for each of our Yorkshire terriers. They were crated for sleep and with us when we gone, if we had not said anything about them nobody would have known they were there.

I fed this back to EconoLodge today:
Scam price for what we endured. The door was nearly impossible to open. we were warned by the desk attendant that "it sticks", but the lock mechanism was too quick to have to shove my shoulder into the door to open, it timed out. The room was shabby-stains on furniture, the security lock was missing, there was signs of wear and tear everywhere from bathroom door to lamps to TV remote.
To top it all off, we did not receive ANY points for our stay. Yes, I originally booked this through Travelocity which I am pissed at too.
You succeeded in making a weekend to see our granddaughter receive a doctorate, a miserable stay.
Furthermore, I feel this is a fraudulent service Travelocity provided. The price was exorbitant, the facility was shabby and unsafe, and I didn't receive points for our stay.

I have 2 dogs and stay at pet friendly hotels. This was the worst place. Dirty wash cloth in tub, dirty walls. Dirty night stand with hair and wrapper. Heat grid was filthy and heat kept coming on all night very loudly. Bed you could feel springs and pillows were hard. We did not sleep and my sister in law refused to shower in morning. And her floor was sticky! Stay away!

Mixed review here. The location, staff, room amenities were all outstanding. I was traveling with a pet and had a ground floor room with no carpet, refrigerator and microwave, kind bed and nice chair and larger coffee table. The morning breakfast was free, varied, and good. On the downside, the property is old. We could hear every step and flush from the upstairs room. The heater was old and noisy and it was hard to maintain a pleasant temp in the room. Overall it was fine, just know what to expect!

Less than 15 minutes from Virginia Tech and very affordable.
Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Great place to stay when dropping off or picking up your kid from VT... Or going for a game...
and don't want to pay a bunch of money for a place to rest your head.

The property is off of I-81, very convenient from my NY drive to Atlanta. The room was good, old food in fridge made me question the cleanliness of the room. Bed was comfortable. The room was descent and for a night’s rest it was perfect. Not fancy but you get what you paid for. There was breakfast to go which worked. Fresh coffee and breakfast bars. It worked!

This was the. OST disgusting hotel/motel I have ever stayed in.
The room was dirty. There was dried blood in the tub. The lamp on the end table would flicker. Thought I’d check to make sure it was plugged in. I pulled out the bed to check the plug - there were dead bugs everywhere under the bed(better than alive I guess). The wall outlet was loose. I then tried the other plug by the other bed. Same issue. When the fridge kicked on - lights would dim. Clearly electrical issues. The bathroom had a leak from the room above.
Also - attracts gross clientele. At 1 am, I had to tell the neighbor to stop knocking on his door yelling at his girlfriend. Tries to call the front desk - no answer.
Just a disgusting dirty place.

Economical, good highway access, no frills, clean
Staff were very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Great for pets. The room temp was challenging to control. I missed a hook to hang coats and jackets. The bed and bedding were reasonable. The desk chair was wiggly and worn but functional. I would like breakfast options that have no added sugar. Cereal, oatmeal, pastries, granola bars, yogurt were all heavily sweetened.

The rooms were very run down and the floors not clean. The hair dryer was filthy. I understand this is not a 5 star hotel but for $250/night this was a disappointment. The front desk was amazing, but we won’t be staying here again.

Room smelled like smoke (even though it was a non smoking room) and there were burn marks on everything. There were holes in the blankets and mold in the bathroom. Door wouldn't open (took like 10 tries to get in), the receptionist was unpleasant. Yikes.

The check in was very easy & the young man was very polite, professional & helpful. It’s AAA approved which also gave us peace of mind that our decision to spend the night here was a good one. It’s also very affordable. It’s a good value. We would definitely stay here again.

Worst property I have ever experienced. Rooms were very dirty, very bad smells of mold and smoke, bathroom was disgusting. Beds are extremely uncomfortable and sheets were not clean.
Conditions were so bad, that we had to sleep in our cloths.
Early morning I went to complain to front desk clerk and asked to be checked out and refunded for the 2nd night but he flat refused and was very arrogant and non apologetic.
We had prepaid over $1038 for 2 nights 2 rooms, I would never stay there even it was free.

On Sunday morning when we attempted to check out wanting a receipt, the front desk person hadn't shown up to work and was staffed only by the breakfast bar attendant who couldn't speak English or access the computer. I hate to think what might have happened had there been an emergency. It would have had to been handled by the guest!

Traveling home from a southern vacation...looking for a comfortable, available and reasonably-priced place to stay for one night. This was one of the only options found online. We stayed in a separate 1st floor park-in-the front building with no real lobby at the main building...not impressed with the room upon entering as it needs updating...paint, wooden and thin doors, bathroom refresh needed with little to no vanity space.
Overall it met our basic needs of a comfortable bed & pillows with a good heater and A/C system.
I would give a 2 out of 5-star rating since it met our basic needs of sleep.

Everything was old and looked dirty. Heating made loud noise, sink faucet was stuck, very old facilities not renovated. I know its it christianburg and close to VT but paying 200 plus bucks its a crime. Better off riding 20 more minutes de raonoke and get a bette motel for half.

We stayed for a night to attend an early morning VT event the following day.. Conveniently located near I 81 exit. Check in was quick. We arrived close to midnight, very tired from a long trip. We really appreciated the bottled water and snacks they offered in the lobby.
But our room had a very strong musty odor and smelled like someone smoked in the room. This must have been a chronic problem cause I noticed an air freshener placed close to the TV. Rack in the fridge was rusted, didn’t feel comfortable putting anything inside. The chairs were stained, The sink was clean, bathroom wall patch work need finishing.
Breakfast was basic. Check out was quick. You get what you paid for.

Smell and mildew
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room had a strong musty odor. I found black mildew around the inside edge of the sink so it was probably the cause of the smell. The floor was a vinyl hardwood so there was no carpet for odors to linger. I reported it to the front desk and they said they would make sure it was cleaned. Otherwise the room was clean.

The hotel was in a convenient location, check in process was smooth, snacks and water were available upon checkin which was awesome. However, the room was suspect. It did the job for the night after a football game. However, the top sheets had stains on them, the bed was stiff and the bathroom looked like it was struggling. I would only stay there on a game weekend when other options were taken.
