We loved this hotel
This was a last minute booking and we were so happy that we got to stay here! Beautiful hotel including the lobby and the room. The front desk staff were amazing (fun, friendly, and so helpful!). The fireplace that made such a cozy lobby and great place to drink their free coffee, fruity water, and free candy (our favorite part!). Our view in the room was amazing! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was luxury and great shower! We also got a great price with this last minute booking and my status at hotels.com! Great location for shopping, eating, and just enjoying Chicago!

We had an awesome time! So many great restaurants nearby, we ate at Bellevue. Such a beautiful place, great view and plenty drinks and snacks. 5 stars for sure thanks for such great hospitality! You guys also comped us a bigger room!!!! Can’t wait to visit again with one of the suites.

The Viceroy was amazing! I can’t say enough about the hotel staff we encountered throughout our stay. From the doormen to the check in staff, housekeepers and bartenders, everyone was so professional and welcoming!
The room was clean, had almost everything we needed. It didn’t have a microwave (we wanted to heat up last night’s leftovers!) and when I asked at the front desk, one was brought up to my room in less than 5 minutes!
The location has so much to offer! It was very safe and walkable with tons of options for restaurants and shopping.
I will definitely be back at the Viceroy!

Great location with fabulous staff.
Wondering what the resort fee is for? Mattresses weren’t the greatest but other than that rooms were clean with cool/funky decor. Staff was impeccable. From the front desk to the bellman to the valet, amazing people working here.

Everything was amazing, easy checking in process, customer service was great. Lobby had a nice smell to it. Room had all the extra amenities that most hotels don’t have. Bed was soft and comfortable. Everything was nice and clean. Will be staying here again

We will definitely stay at the Viceroy again! The aesthetic of the lobby and everything else is very unique. We had brunch at the restaurant on our last morning but left thinking we should have tried it for lunch and dinner. If you can get the Junior Suite with the balcony, do it. You won't regret it.

What an exceptional stay at the Viceroy Chicago! Rooms were modern, spacious, and beautifully furnished. Staff were also incredible - Antonio of the valet team was the first face we met, and he greeted myself and my husband by our first names every time we left/entered the hotel. Location is also great to restaurants and excellent shopping. Thank you for an phenomenal first trip to Chicago!

Perfect 3 day getaway.
Great hotel and staff. Room and other facilities very clean and well maintained. The gym is especially nice with nice view while you workout. Location is also very good to explore Chicago on foot or short Uber/cab ride to most places.

2 suggestions: I wish the gym hours were longer and I wish there were easier access to both filtered water (like a water fountain that also can refill bottles?) and hot water to make tea.

My husband and I travel a lot and I must say this hotel stands out! The location is perfect, great neighborhood, walkable to all the sites. Hotel is just the right size, not too big. Beautiful decor. Lovely pool/terrasse on the roof was great to chill at. But it's the wonderful, helpful, friendly staff that made the difference. We had some Gold Member perks that the staff were helpful in applying. We will most certainly recommend this hotel to friends.

This is a great find in Chicago. It’s elegant, well equipped, and well located - only a short walk from the Lake. The staff are friendly. The rooftop bar and pool are hopping.

This is a 3-star hotel with extra gimmick features that have somehow made it a 4.5-star hotel.
I disagree.
1. There are only 2 elevators, taking forever to first wait for and then to get up/down. When you are anywhere other than the ground and top floor, the elevator often passes you by, and you end up needing to keep pressing the button.
2. The fitness center is has outdated equipment — all cramped in two small rooms. They added floor-to-ceiling mirrors to make it look bigger and it helps. In reality, the fitness center is just about 300 square feet, in total.
3. The swimming-pool is a joke. It’s more a big bathtub than a pool — very small.
4. The furniture in the room is arranged in a poor way. They put there so many pieces that it is impossible to move around.
5. The lighting was broken (the night-light in the bathroom and the closet, while off at night, was blinking on/off (there are some sensors, I believe, that react to the movement). The main light in the living room was not working either — two of the bulbs inside the lamp were burnt.
6. The refrigerator’s door (or the cabinet in which it was installed) was askew and hence did not open/close until much effort is applied.
7. The TV had a defect in the lower middle part of the screen (some kind of discoloration).
8. The knobs on most of the lamps were bent and so rotating them to adjust the brightness was difficult.
ALL THESE are just a few things (however minute they may be) that I can easily recollect.

Excellent stay in this stylish, convenient hotel. The location in the heart of Gold Coast is central to downtown, parks, beaches, and lots of great restaurants. The room was beautiful, with comfortable bedding and a large, elegant bathroom. The rooftop pool is a highlight, with fantastic views. Service throughout the hotel was top-notch, from check-in to check-out, as well as the Somerset restaurant, room service, housekeeping, and pool attendants. I will be back!

I absolutely loved staying here. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, welcoming, and eager to please. It is conveniently located with lots of restaurant choices very close by. The lobby and other common areas were absolutely stunning. The room was comfortable, and luxurious. The rooftop pool and bar were wonderful amenities. My only minor criticism was that the pool closed too early. I wish we could have used the pool into the evening, at least until 8:00 pm. I will be back, and I would definitely recommend Viceroy Chicago.

The Viceroy hotel is beautiful inside and out, and in a great location for downtown Chicago. Walking distance to the beach, the riverwalk and the miracle mile. The rooftop pool and bar are great. The pool is modest but the views and service are amazing.

This property exceeded our expectations. It is in a super location, excellent dining and very walkable. The restaurant on site was nothing short of excellent! The highlight was the staff - absolutely incredible from the valet, front desk, concierge, restaurant staff.... wonderful hotel. The only complaint would be the lack of staff at the rooftop bar, but not a big deal.
