It unfortunately is right next door to the SLS property which has a non stop party blasting music situation
The surfcomber itself is quite noisy…. No quiet space to chill except your room
If you are looking for a chill and quiet hotel…. Keep looking this isn’t it

Very functional, in the middle of the very expensive hotels but offers a great value. The staff was amazing working on all locations. Front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The room was small, but had all what I needed.

Very welcoming hotel, staff was very accomodating. We liked the area around the hotel too. Going out for a morning run on the beach, yoga classes and lots of shopping and restaurants around.

I was a bit nervous about some recent bad reviews, but turned out to be a really nice stay. Great location, nice lobby area with a cool & busy bar/restaurants. Staff was super nice and friendly. rooms a bit on smaller side and a bit outdated. Only watch-out is that most rooms have no views the way the hotel layout is. For a 1-2 night stay and if you score a good great I can only recommend.

Wife and I stayed at Kimpton Surfcomber for 4 days just want to say staff was amazing trying to make our weekend memorable.
Location is great walking distance to beech, shopping and done great restaurants
We will definitely be back again

The food at High Tide bar (the outside bar by the pool) is delicious.
The High Tide bar staff is average at best. Good thing the gratuity is built into the High Tide bar bill as the staff is pretty lax & attention to detail isn’t part of their forte.
Orders get screwed up. Ask for drinks & never receive them.
Maybe the High Tide staff can’t hear because the music is extremely loud in the afternoon.
I love the music, don’t get me wrong.
The Hyde Beach club next door has a boisterous/rowdy atmosphere that spills into the ambience of the Kimpton Surfcomber. As if there are competing music selections. It reminds me of Cabo San Lucas.
The remainder of the staff are very pleasant & helpful even if they don’t seem enthused to be there.
The beach cruiser bicycles that are available for hotel patrons need major help. The bicycles are pretty beat up but that intensifies the amount of effort needed to ride them.
Quaint remodeled hotel. No frills. Walkable to about everywhere in South Beach.
The hotel butts up to the South Beach boardwalk which is really convenient for riding bikes, walking, jogging, rollerblading, longboard skateboarding, etc…
Vegetation on property is beautifully manicured.
I would visit again as I didn’t go there for top notch Ritz Carlton service.
The Kimpton Surfcomber location is excellent.
Seems most people go here to party & have a blast. Which I did as well. This is a reflection of my experience & I went the week after Thanksgiving.

The restaurant staff was fabulous and the food was veey good. However hotel property overall needs significant renovation, especially the guest rooms and bathrooms. The is significant rust, peeling and other discoloration around the tub, etc. Also rooms are very small and markedly smallee than they appear in photos. Finally we had other disappointments in the room and when asked for a 1-night comp we were refused. Fabulous experience in Miami but would likely select a different property next visit, unless upgrades are made.

The hotel and the room were clean. The staff was friendly and helpful from the minute we got there to the minute we left. While at the beach, Jude was very accommodating and made sure to give us exactly what we needed. On the pool area, they had multiple daily activities, Romi was an Uno pool master and provided us with a fun time. Will definitely return for my next vacation to Miami.

The reception personnel was really helpful. I checked in late and when I asked the offered me a couple of complementary hrs to enjoy the facilities the next day.
The young man at the reception made a great difference and had recommended the location to few friends visiting soon.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Surfcomber. Great location right on South Beach with direct access to the ocean, as well as a beautiful pool with fantastic service. The room was clean and had what we needed for our stay. The surrounding area is full of dining options and is between all the major sites on South Beach. We will be sure to stay there again should we return to South Beach.

The Surfcomber is well positioned in central South Beach, with direct access onto beach from rear exit via the pool. Amenities are excellent and nothing is too much trouble, especially the hard working staff by the pool and outdoor bar area.
The standard rooms are small but perfectly formed and adequate for a great stay. Coffee machine in room making a great coffee every morning before having a stroll out to the beach with a croissant from the little bakery’s across the street.
Nothing to change and every reason to return! Thank you to all the staff!

We went with the family. The location is great, close to walk everywhere but far enough from the South Beach craziness. My kids enjoyed the place a lot, and the beach is a very easy walk. Overall we enjoyed this place and would recommend and also come back.

It is a great little hotel, with all the commodities and you are right in the middle of Miami Beach. Walked easily to dine out. The pool area is very nice and just steps from the beach. Great cocktails at the pool restaurant.

Where to start.
Perhaps I should start by saying I never write bad reviews. I always try to see the other side of situations and give everyone the benefit of the doubt
First, we waited over 3 hours for our room to be ready - our room wasn’t given to us until an hour after the guaranteed check in time.
We were offered a bottle of wine for the delay. Unfortunately, the wine was never brought up to our room and was never given to us during our 5-day stay. (Not a big deal but don’t over promise and under deliver).
When we got up to the room, the floor (carpet) was wet. We assumed something had had to be cleaned up before the room was opened to us so we thought nothing more of it and continued with our day.
Three days later, there was a bit of a storm late one night (~11pm) - to the point where the ceiling of our hotel room was pouring water onto our stuff and the floor. Upon calling the front desk, they begrudgingly gave us another room (but not without pushback - they wanted us to wait until another room became available the following day).
Overall, the customer service was lacking. We are not challenging, needy guests but this hotel failed to meet basic expectations.
Great location but overpriced and not worth the service.

This property is nothing like the promotional pictures. The grounds are in serious need for and upgrade. The landscaping is terrible. Looks like a deserted forest. Pool is dirty (water is literally yellow/green). Rooms are not cleaned (when we checked-in, we found all kinds of hair on our towels!!!). There is construction next door so be prepared for noise that extends all the way to the beach. When we submitted “unhappy” to a survey that was promoted on our room tv, someone from the staff called us at 10:30pm to ask “if we’re alright!” Would definitely not recommend!

Location of this hotel is great. A block from Lincoln rd shopping with restaurant options just across the street. A smaller hotel but has a really nice vibe. Room cleaned daily without request. Daily activities and ocean steps away. Stayed here in May with an 8 year old and now July with just adults.

We loved our stay here! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful, and we loved the decor. Felt very Miami, comfortable, and chic! The room was great, everything you need. The bed was so comfy! The pool and beach were great too, really appreciated the service , chairs and umbrellas, and fun music with the DJ. We definitely want to come back! All of south beach is walkable from here too, which is perfect for shopping, dining, and drinking. Plus just a short 20 min Uber from the airport. So happy!

Good hotel. The food at the Pool Bar (High Tide) was really good, surprisingly. The room was clean, though I did notice a few small stains on the carpet. Also, when we asked for sheets for the pull-out sofa bed, one of the sheets came with rips. Also, the hotel gym is extremely small. For the size of the hotel, one would think that they'd have a bigger gym.
Overall a solid and good hotel. A couple of gripes here and there, but good experience overall.

I stayed for July 4th weekend, shocked to see the same price i paid was matched by the hold on my charge, resort fee??
I had to pay 25 dollars a day for a umbrella. The room was small 4 ppl 2 dbl beds, and the room was filled with anything you wa ted to drink. 8 dollar bottles of water to 8 dollar cans of diet coke.

The room quality wasn’t up to par the bathroom had an odor and wasn’t as clean as I’d like. The biggest problem is not knowing that the pool is considered private meaning that you may not get to use it. The first 2 nights of our stay we weren’t even allowed into the backyard let alone the pool. We had to leave the resort and walk around for beach access

There is big quality concern with this hotel which makes it absolutely unreliable to have business with. The room had multiple broken things. The stuff was responsive but didn't solve issues and what's more tried to charge for what we didn't break. The bath tub had multiple 2 inch wide dents that were deep so it was impossibly to take back without scratching skin. Phone headset was not working, there was 10 inch deep scratch in TV screen and conditioner was leaking. The hotel could not find another room at check-in day but suggested to move to another room next day. They sent engineer to fix the phone twice, without any fixing or status updates. Although we reported TV scratch, in the end the hotel tried to charge a fee for the TV "our housekeeping team has advised us that TV screen was damaged during the stay. there would be a damage fee to replace the TV", they reversed the fee though.

Pros: Oceanfront (beach loungers, towels included). Friendly, helpful staff. Walkable area. Overall: I had an essential room. I found it spacious and the bathroom/shower was nice. I asked for a quiet room at check-in. Those of us that are light sleepers know that a quiet room will involve a bad view/no view. That's totally fine. The room was smack in the middle and quiet-- on a weekend! Yes, the music plays by the pool all day. I didn't mind it. Just put in your own AirPods, and it's fine. The beach is quiet. Had a lovely time and would stay again.

Not the fanciest place in South Beach, but incredible service, location, and amenities made it amazing! The real star was the patio overlooking the pool and ocean during our stay. So nice to wake up and drink coffee in our private space! Would definitely stay again:)

The hotel is great, pool, direct to the beach . My only disappointment this time it’s that the room needs some renovation….. at 3:00am during a rainy night the celling was leaking on my kids bed and we needed to pack and leave the room to change …..

Cleanliness: The common areas were near and tidy. The room service was a different story. I had gotten something on a pillow case. Instead of changing the pillowcase, the room attendant put the pillow underneath another pillow!!
Used glasses were not removed from our room on a daily basis.
This would not be a hotel that we would stay in again.

What you are paying for here is the location and the staff service. Both were excellent. The rooms themselves were adequate and the amenities and resort itself were fine. Part of this could have been the time of year, I was there (first week of May and there was some renovations going on)

Hotel was very clean . Staff was very professional. Staff at pool was very nice. Had issue with tv not working the entire stay. Staff attempted to have it repaired but did not work out. Hotel made it right . I would stay here again . Food at pool was awesome.

Most of the reviews online are pretty accurate. Fairly friendly staff at front desk, very friendly and sweet housekeepers and pool personnel.
We booked Garden View room, that was on the first floor, it was pretty dark, but not too bad. At night some guests were loud at the garden area, which was annoying obviously, but that’s Miami.
Pool area gets busy, make sure to get there a little earlier. Most of the days pool was a lacking some cleaning, but generally okay.
Wine hour with snack was a nice touch.
Overall just a very decent/solid stay, but don’t have crazy high expectations.

The room was so old! The bathtub paint was peeling and there was rust everywhere. The fire alarm went off 6 times while we were there, including 3 times in the middle of the night. And no announcement to let people know everything was okay. Over priced for what you get. And I’m not sure if booking through expedia made us get the worst room facing a wall!

The worst hotel experience to date.
Utterly the worst experience ever. Horrible front desk staff that do not care about you, they treat you like garbage, and ignore any means of helping you. The rooms are stained, dirty and gross. The lobby is under construction, and not even bathrooms in the lobby. The showers leak brown dirty acidic water which is unsanitary and concerning from a public health stand point. Worst hotel experience ever. Luckily we told the manager and she will fix this hotel, cause lord it needs help.

They seem to have recently experienced a flood so the floor we were on was all under construction and very dirty. The elevator at the end of the hall wasn’t working so you couldn’t avoid going through the construction to get to the lobby. One night of our stay the fire alarm went off three times in the middle of the night. Could be a good stay but unpleasant during reconstruction. Would have appreciated the offer of reduced resort fees for the inconvenience of the construction.
