TVs are always out
Great location, staff and amenities. I’ve stayed at this property four times and not once have I figured out how to use the TV. Please work on this, I shouldn’t have to call the front desk for something as easy as turning the TV on and having it work

The hotel was a nice treat to stay for a weekend gateway with my wife. We had late dinner reservations at a restaurant nearby and decided to stay at this hotel. We came here before for the movies on the roof.
The hotel was a nice treat as it was nicely decorated for the holidays and the bar downstairs had a cozy vibe. The staff were great and the manager he was awesome. He saw that we were at a small table and moved us to a bigger table to accommodate the amount of food we were getting. That was nice of him. He also recognized my wife the next day and was very nice.
We did stop by at the bar upstairs and wished we would have had time to eat and have some drinks there as it had a nice relaxing vibe and it was nicely decorated as well.
The room was nice, however the beds were a bit too firm for us.
We will return it is a nice hotel for a weekend gateway as everything is nearby and walkable. What ever your taste is you will find near this hotel.

I usually love this property! This visit was NYE so maybe they were short staffed??! Doesn't make up for the disgusting, dirtiness of my room. No rooms to switch to, told the front desk, they were to email me a solution within and hour of my check out (Yesterday) - still have not heard a thing...so gross!

Upon entering The Emily Hotel, we were very impressed by the beautiful lobby and restaurant / bar and the level of cleanliness. The area felt safe too, which was nice. However, the room we were assigned was disappointing. The air conditioner was out and it was around 90 degrees outside at the time – When my friend and I turned on the AC, the room only got hotter. We reported the issue to the front desk and were moved to a better room. The first room was a "city view" booking, but our view of the city was the hotel roof gravel pit with clunky pipes directly in front of the windows. The second room much better with an actual view of the city and working AC.
The hotel employee at the front desk when we first checked in, the hosts, restaurant waitstaff, and bar staff were very rude to my friend and I during our visit. Unfortunately I don't recall the name of this bartender, but he was especially unkind and continued to criticize me for no reason at all. 30-something with blone hair I think. I was kind to him, so I don't really understand what his problem was. He was a dick though and I hope he gets fired
The only two employees worth mentioning are Leo and Steven. Steven was so kind and thoughtful when he helped me buy some Tylenol for a headache later during our stay. Leo assisted us during checking out the next morning. Both employees were genuine, professional, and had great customer service.

Our stay was fabulous! Super kind staff, great mini bar which we could use since booking through Expedia gave me a 25 dollar credit to use at the hotel’s restaurants, coffee bar, or mini bar in the room. They even let us check in way before 3pm time which was a godsend. Overall perfect experience, clean and comfortable room and we found the bed comfortable! 10/10 would recommend

Beautifully decorated lobby and front for Christmas! Nice little coffee shop in lobby to use the credit that came with the booking. We didn’t use the restaurant or other amenities on site. Room was very plain, no decor, and bed was very low to floor. This could be difficult for some people to get out of. Very cheap-appearing walls and closet doors. There was a great variety of alcohol and non-alcohol drinks and many different snacks in the room available for purchase. I don’t love this feature due to the fact that every person who ever stays can touch the packages and get their nasty funk on them. I highly doubt these are getting cleaned by housekeeping. Bed was comfortable, good water pressure in shower, thermostat worked well so room was comfortable temp. Overall, pleased with this hotel. Definitely was more expensive than hotels in other areas of Chicago, but this was closest to our venue. Not sure the cost matched the amenities that were actually included in the cost. $25 credit per room helped some, but still expensive.

Nice stay in bustling Fulton Market
Easy, centrally located in the heart of Fulton Market. Some “city” noise (emptying bottles in the dumpster at 2:00 am), but no big deal. Simple and modern rooms, with a spacious and comfortable space. Couldn’t seem to get the bathroom vent fan to work, so room seemed a little humid, but other than that, no complaints.
Staff was responsive with more pillows and towels, and very easy check in and out.

Overall it’s a lovely place. The WiFi only works for 10 minutes before you are booted off and the rooms are quite minimalist. The staff was pleasant enough although the cleaning crew tried to move me out an hour before standard check out time by knocking on my door every 10-15 minutes.

Really great hotel and location! Loved the design and the modern rooms with lots of nice amenities. We didn't make it up to the rooftop bar, but the downstairs Fora was great for drinks. Hotel staff very friendly. Location easy to walk anywhere in West Loop.

Do NOT stay here. We were expecting more considering the area but boy were we in for a surprise. The room was just a big no, the bed was like a cot, the tv was small, the channels didn’t work, the phone didn’t work. I tried to use the phone to call the front desk, they answered then called me back on my cell because they knew the phone didn’t work. Everything was not up to date, when we booked we selected the Executive Suite, let’s just say if that was the suite I’d hate to see a standard room. The only good thing they had going was hot water. Pick a different place, save yourself the headache. The lobby will have you fooled it’s decor is nice and up to date but once you get on them elevators and get to those rooms it’s a different story. They should have named this place The Michael Myers instead of The Emily.

1. Got stuck in a lift
2. Accidentally left a bag of clothes in my room. Called reception on way to the airport, was fobbed off by a member of staff to leave a report through some website that just sent out useless updates.
A simple check with housekeeping would have located the bag and all its content.
Never staying at this dump again.

The hotel was wonderful, with great amenities on-site. This place even seems to have it’s own social scene built in, with a somewhat happening restaurant and bar onsite. The location is incredibly convenient to everything that Fulton Market has to offer. The only thing that kept me from offering five stars, was unfortunately loud service personnel early in the morning. Just as likely to be a random occurrence, but it was all that took away from my experience

I'm pretty on the fence about this stay. Pros: convenient location, clean, nice bar and restaurant area, coffee shop in lobby. Cons: Incredibly unfriendly staff (especially valet drivers), rooms lack basics like coffee or usable mini fridge, window is mere feet from the office building next door requiring you you to keep blinds closed at all times, unfinished reno (concrete floors and ceiling)

I booked this hotel knowing it was previously an Ace Hotel, and assumed the same level of service, but was slightly disappointed. Service was average and restaurants on property closed way too early (even on Fri/Sat). The neighborhood is trendy, new, and developing, and there were not many late night dining options outside the hotel either. So you’re sent back to the hotel room at 10PM, and the TV system doesn’t even work (see multiple reviews with the same issue). This place is more of a scene, without much substance.

The Emily is exactly what it advertises: comfortable and modernist. Platform bed comfy & bedding warm. Plenty of hanging space. Kettle/hair dryer/clothes steamer. Big, fluffy towels! TV & radio, though we never turned either on! If, however, climbing into a jacuzzi is difficult for you, ask for an accessible room - the deep, bubble-bath worthy tub was a bit of a challenge for me! Restaurants offer a variety of menus with daily specials and discounts. Outdoor fire pits were warming, even as north winds were blowing - I sat there with a glass of wine reading. My only wish: keep the bar open later so a drink and snack after a night of theater is possible, as the in-room offerings are pricey! A great choice!!

The room was very nice and the beds very comfortable. My only complaint was about the lack of brighter lights. It made applying make up difficult. As well, there is no bathtub only a shower and a tub would’ve been appreciated by the marathon runner staying in the room during this weekend

Fantastic location in the west loop!
Fantastic service by the staff. A few minor issues arose but they were quickly handled. The location was great, with transit options walk-able nearby. The restaurants/bars on site were a great addition, with even more locations within a 5-10 minute walk.

Impromptu staycation
We had a wonderful stay at The Emily Hotel. The location and amenities (coffee shop, rooftop bar, restaurant) were excellent. We found the room itself a little sparse in the way modern hotels can be… but the bed was comfortable and you really can’t beat the West Loop location.

Great location, great service. The tub in my king suite didn't drain. The drain plug was also stuck out to the side. Nice room, clean, but for the cost, I do want the plumbing to be functioning well.

Our stay at The Emily was excellent! Remarkable service, great location, and lovely design. Dinner at Fora was amazing, but breakfast was so-so. The coffee shop was a reliable staple though. There are so many amazing food options within a few blocks, and the Green Line is just right down the street!
Top-notch property, would definitely stay here again :)

The A/C in the room was quite noisy. I request to change another room. the front desk told me actually this hotel is same this. If you feel it too loud. you can turn off the condition system.

The hotel is nice and well located. But there was no tv signal in my room all 3 days I was there. I complained twice to the front desk and the answer was that I was not the only one, like somehow that’s gonna make it better? Also the TVs are not smart so I had to end up watching Netflix on my phone every night. 3 days with no TV is unacceptable. No compensation was offered at all either which I also thought was wrong after knowing there was no signal in the whole building for at least 3 days.

Hotel was nice, but the TV situation was really annoying/hard to operate, there was dust in the bathroom vents, and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. It was fine, but seemed overpriced.

Modern and clean hotel with excellent customer service. TV in the room was surprisingly on the older side with limited functionality (no smart features) and intermittent access to the available channels. Refrigerator space is extremely limited as the in-room refrigerator was stocked with beverages for sale.

Convenient location to what we wanted to see in Chicago. Paid $30 extra for my minor child (since she was the third guest in the room) but only two sets of guest towels in the room.
$25 food and beverage credit was included, but when we attempted to use it at the cafe for coffee and pastries we were told the "system is down" and no alternative was offered. I didn't get to use the credit.

Hotel looks nice on the outside, wonderful location that's walking distance to all the great restaurants and bars, has a very well equipped gym, and no complaints about the staff. Its nice that there's also a restaurant, roof bar and a rooftop cinema in there although I used none of these facilities. The rooms are not great. For the price of this hotel, I would expect better room amenities. The bed is not that comfortable, the ceiling is odd (wood but painted over black. Not a decision changer but the aesthic contributes to a cheaper feel), only get free wifi for a day? And the TV only had very few channels available and no access to other platforms like hbo or netflix. Again for the price of the hotel I think wifi and decent TV accessibility should be included. I would not stay here again.

Very clean and minimalistic hotel! The coffee at the cafe on the first floor was great and convenient. I attended the movie night event that is organized by a third party company that takes place on the rooftop of the hotel. The event was fun and the rooftop is very pretty.

location is great - walking distance to so many places in the neighborhood. The hotel staff is very helpful w/ solid customer service. The breakfast cafe, bar, restaurant, rooftop bar, rooftop cinema and gym all excellent amenities. My room was ok but the retro look / layout is a not my thing but it works.

Very clean and neat boutique hotel. My wife and I stayed two nights for our anniversary and we loved it. Great room and great location with easy walking to many shops and dining options, plus CTA lines to the loop. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful contemporary hotel! Extremely clean and comfortable! Staff for check-in and checkout was great. Gorgeous aesthetics of hotel was a real eye pleaser! Having the cafe at the hotel was very convenient and their breakfast sandwich and coffee was delicious! Also, so impressed with the rooftop bar. I will definitely be staying here again! And so close to the L and many eateries.

Everything was amazing other than parking. It said they had onsite parking when all they had was valet parking for a crazy rate. Outside of that it was awesome and would stay again I’ll just be more prepared for parking.

Great location and customer service. There is a parking garage literally across the street that is more cost effective, was only $53 for 24 hours versus $79 for valet at the hotel. Was able to take the Morgan train station was a few blocks down. Many restaurants within walking distance. Room was very comfortable and I would definitely stay again.
