We'll be back
Our first time staying at this hotel, and we were very pleased. Everything looked clean and new. It was amazingly close to theaters, restaurants, and places we wanted to go. The Art Institute, the Cultural Center, and the restaurants we wanted to eat at were a very easy walk. The staff was very helpful, and it was great to have complimentary coffee available in the morning and a restaurant on-site. Security was very good in the building and we felt very safe.

The hotel was in such a convenient location! We were able to walk everywhere without any issue with two boys. There was no city noise except the ambulances. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Clean and spacious room. Only thing I wished was that they would have a TV with streaming service access. But overall we are very happy with our hotel choice!

The room was excellent, clean, and comfortable. The location was absolutely perfect for anyone going to see a show and there were so many good options for dinner and dining in general. The only problem was that the windows are not well insulated and therefore we heard everything going on outside. We were on the 6th floor so that might have something to do with it but we could easily hear the people on the streets, cars, and unfortunately sirens at 2 AM. I will definitely stay here again with my husband but not with a child again due to the noises.

Great Location for Theatre Goers
Nice hotel room. I didn't realize it's literally <1 minute walk to the Nederlander where we had tickets to see Hamilton, so the location is very convenient for theatre goers. It is downtown Chicago, so there is road/traffic noise. There is only a large walk-in shower with no tub, which was fine for us.

The location was perfect for transit , bus and everything!
We stayed for 7 nights and requested for a housekeeping because we're running out of toilet paper and napkin, also the floor was dirty enough for 7 days, we did ran out of body wash soap too. Every night we get back we were hoping that someone cleaned our room and refill and restock everything, but we did not get that even we call the front desk. I just assumed they were short staffed that week.

Couldn't sleep and no hot water!
This was the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. The walls are so thin and the plumbing was very loud every time someone in another room flushed it would make a loud noise. No HOT water - just luke warm! They didn't seem to care either.

Perfect location and great price
Very nice and clean, staff friendly and helpful. Loved that there was a resturant on site as well as entertainment for guess in lobby and separate game room. Very close to popular downtown chicago attractions and theaters.

Enjoyable Stay in Downtown Chicago
The location is excellent, right in downtown Chicago. It's convenient as famous attractions like Millennium Park are within a 15-minute walk. The hotel has been renovated, and the absence of carpeting on the floor contributes to its cleanliness. Satisfied with the cleanliness of bedding and overall cleanliness, the trip was enjoyable. While the breakfast and room service are lacking, the reasonable price makes it understandable. I would like to choose this place again if I visit.

Everything was great at this property except for the late check-in. We got there a little after 4 pm, which is check-in time. No rooms were available. We did not get in our room until 6:30 pm. We were scheduled to see a show at 8 pm and wanted to rest beforehand. However, we were unable to. This property was great otherwise. Location is perfect. Parking was close and within walking distance of the hotel. Theatre was right next door. We were able to walk to shops, restaurants, and millennium park.

At this price point, it should be pretty good. Sure, property was nice but being on the road-side was intolerable. We didn't get to sleep until after 1am due to people banging their buckets and so, so many people on their horns. Not a beep, beep, but laying on the horns for a few seconds. Other loud guests didn't help either -- people are just inconsiderate. I was disgusted, but of course no ones cares -- just give us your credit card number and shut up. I really, really hate this place. I'm still mad about it a week later. Stay elsewhere.

Reasonable for the location
The hotel is at a great location for tourists, close proximity to many attractions and restaurants. The room had everything we needed apart from a safe. The room housekeeping was not good, had to pre-book and they only made the beds and didn’t actually clean or tidy anything. The hotel is very noisy both inside and outside, I had to use ear plugs to get to sleep.

The Cambria hotel was within a block of the Christkindal Market. If I was here for theater it would have been fantastic also. The rooms were great. The only issue may have been they talked about happy hour but the bar was not open for some reason. I will stay here again.

Location was excellent, staff was friendly but service was difficult to not available. The front desk stated breakfast was until11am, we arrived 10:35 and they told us the kitchen was closed and to go someplace else. Our room was never serviced, I called four times to no avail. Service was less then normal.

Would have done 5 star but unimpressed with restaurant. Looked like you could order from room but can't. Have to go down to order and then go back down to get. 13 floors and elevator waits. Did breakfast. And order was wrong.
Yes we will stay again when come here but will just eat elsewhere

We were in Chicago to see a show at the Cadillac Palace. The hotel was next door, so very convenient for us. Although a little dated, the hotel was clean, room was very spacious and comfortable.
The women at the check-in was very helpful and was able to change our room to accommodate our needs. We appreciated that!

Once Settled in We Had a Great Stay
The best part of our visit was the time spent at Intermission, the lobby bar and restaurant. The one staff member did it all- he was the bar tender, waiter and bus boy and excelled at all levels. One of our party was delayed so we ended up being at the bar for over four hours but he was extremely patient and professional. This was in direct contrast with the woman that checked us in and couldn't find our second room which had been pre-paid. Later she was unable to help us get Wi-Fi access saying to try again later and dismissed us. We did try an hour later and when none of us could get on then we went to the other desk agent who after attempting to get us connected called for the manager. He was great, coming into the bar to apologize and said there must have been a problem when the new password had been entered and that we should be able to be automatically log in without the code until they could fix the issue and have it reset.
A strange thing about the hotel is that the lobby and check-in desk are on 9. Our rooms were on 7. We never did get used to going down from the lobby to go to our room but that is just a habit. The way the hotel wraps around the adjacent theater makes for narrower floors on the lower levels. Once you get to your rooms they are beautiful! Great, contemporary updates and very clean, quiet and comfortable. We loved the lighting options. There is no complimentary breakfast, only a coffee station but the restaurant is open. Wonderful location.

A good hotel
Amazing security staff. The rooms were clean and functional and beds were comfortable. The Bluetooth bathroom mirror was a nice touch. Some of the front desk staff were nice. Upon check in one didn’t want to take the time to look my Choice member number so that was not cool. It was really close to everything and glad we could catch a Broadway show next door. I would stay here again.

The Hotel Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very convinient Location with Shows and Restaurants. In walking Distance to Michigan Ave.
Hotel Bar is limited but good quick food and drinks. Bar Tender was very friendly.
Breakfast at same Bar Location. Server was ok friendly.
Room was very nice and clean. Bed was soso, needs improvement.
Overall, when we come back to Chicago, we will concider this Hotel again.

Room was perfect for a 3 day visit in Chicago. Hotel was nice although a bit noisy: street traffic & some hallway noise at night. Coffee was ok. Lucky for us, Starbucks was everywhere. But would stay here again, especially if you’re going to the theater.

Very convenient location, mondern rooms and fast elevators. Seemed awkward to have checkin on the 5th floor but made sense after checkin. I'd recommend this location if you have business in Chicago and you need to be downtown.

The shower needed to be fixed in our room and they sent someone the next day because a similar room was not available. Shower was still not fixed properly water was super hot which made showering difficult. We had an issue with parking and staff was not very helpful to rectify the situation. Room was only cleaned upon request. We found it was also noisy but since it is in the middle of the city so understand that is something that could not be controlled. Location was good we were steps away from Thanksgiving day parade.

Pros: There are a lot of stores and theatre venues around.
Cons: Lobby on 9th floor. Dirty elevator & lobby floors.
In the room, the beds as not queen as advertised. The tv was not in front of the bed but to the left, so imagine the neck pain.
But the worst of all was the never ending-slamming of doors and laughing hard passed 10 pm which patrons in other Chicago hotels we’ve stayed in have never done & the constant loud sirens and people yelling and laughing out loud on W Randolph St. Not to mention at 11 pm the guy that play battery with the homedepot style buckets. Unfortunately, this hotel didn’t work out for us.

Very very loud. Asked to change rooms for the following day, told it was o.k. Following morning looked at us like we were crazy wanting to change.
At check in asked if we wanted from to be changed (cleaned). Yes, very important. Came back in at 7p.m. before dinner, room was not made (pre check in funk).

Wonderful, overnight stay!
The room was smaller than other hotels but the price was very reasonable for downtown Chicago. Even though the room was small it was setup in a way that was extremely efficient. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Very close to theaters, restaurants, shopping, parking, everything you could want downtown Chicago.

We stayed because we were going to Teatro ZinZanni & it was very convenient as the venue is inside the hotel building. We had a drink in Intermission, which is the bar inside the hotel and the bartender was great. The front desk people were fine. The only reason I have a 4 star for the staff was because no one came to change the sheets or towels. But the hotel is convenient to all the theaters & Macy’s. But seriously, the Teatro ZinZanni is so worth it. It’s a theater in the round that is like a dinner theater that’s a little bit Cirque du Soliel, comedy, music, & magic. SO worth it.

Very comfortable beds AND pillows made sleeping easy. Blackout shade and good soundproofing nearly silenced the sounds of the El outside.
Large shower and bathroom were comfortable for two.

Great hotel, reception had an off day
I absolutely love the Cambria Hotel. Unfortunately our check is experience was a tad frustrating this time. The staff was obviously rattled by something out of their hands and everyone has a bad day from time to time, but this time they wore it on their sleeve. I’ve stayed multiple times and this was the first time I’ve ever had a less than pleasant check in experience. I will continue to stay and hope that this was a one off day

This was my first stay at the Cambria and let me tell you… I was BLOWN AWAY!!! I paid $163 for my one night stay in this amazing hotel. The lobby is spacious and gorgeously adorned with chrome finishes on dark mahogany (I think) wood. A beautiful bar area. A wide variety of snacks to choose from available for purchase including chips, candy bars, oatmeal bowls, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and even small personal frozen pizzas! I had a king room on the 12th floor, which you need a key to use the elevator for any floor above the lobby on the 9th so I felt safe as I was alone. The room was open, modern, beautiful as can be. Running lights under and around the bed frame. TV is INSIDE the wall so it’s not protruding and flush with the wall. Microwave, mini fridge, a desk, iron, nice sized closet to hang special outfits, GLASS cups to drink out of and not the flimsy plastic ones that break. My view looked directly down onto Randolph st which was pretty cool. Whoever was at the desk when I checked in was sweet as pie and had a wonderful conversation with her. I was never bothered nor did I hear anyone/anything during the night. The bathroom? The MIRROR has BLUETOOTH capabilities!!!! So when you’re showering/getting ready, you hook your phone up and can listen to whatever just like a normal speaker!! Plenty of towels, extra TP, a hair dryer and soaps/body washes were there to use as well. Absolutely amazing hotel and experience. I hope to be able to come back in the future!

Good hotel, parking nightmare
Very clean and staff was very friendly. Parking was very frustrating so I HIGHLY recommend calling the hotel for directions BEFORE you get there. We ended up paying extra for parking that was “non-refundable”. The hotel itself was great. Slightly disappointed the hotel bar closes at 10pm, we weren’t even back from dinner by that time and were hoping to be able to drink in a safe location at the hotel.

Water damage in the room visible on walls and on ceiling. Restaurant was supposed to be open (and was part of the reason why I chose this property), but was only open for breakfast out of the 3 days we were there, and even when they were open for breakfast they served us back-to-back raw omelettes (scramble mixture literally running out of the middle of the omelettes). Shower got warm but not hot, had coffee fixings but no coffee machine, view from the room was the inside of a parking garage (it’s downtown Chicago so I’m not that mad about this, just a little bit of a letdown), and our TV stopped working mid-stay. All that being said, the staff was nice and the hotel was clean. The doormen were extremely kind and helpful. The best part was that we could turn the A/C down as low as we wanted and *finally* got to sleep in a nice, dark, cold hotel room. Beds were a little firm, though.
All in all, probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Cambria has been my go-to for years. The effects of reducing staff, and shortchanging amenities (no trash cans in the rooms? Check in was very tough because they hadn't checked rooms etc) are telling and totally unwelcome. Guess I'll start going back to the Allegro from here on.

Convenient and comfortable location, but noisy.
The hotel is in an excellent location, just steps away from State St, right in the heart of the Theater District. There are lots of businesses and attractions within walking distance, including the Chicago Theater and the Riverwalk. Union Station is about 20 minutes away (walking). Staff is friendly and helpful. The only downside of this hotel is that it is in a very busy location, so don't expect quiet nights (lots of emergency services, street performers and when there's a play in the theater beside the hotel, you can hear the noise).

Disappointed overall
Probably wouldn't have been too bad except for a couple of glaring problems:
1) There was leftover food in the fridge. Ew. Not exactly encouraging as far cleanliness goes. That right there is enough for zero stars in my book.
2) Bathroom is huge, room is small... what? Why? Also, there is no shower door in the huge shower but there's also no bath mat anywhere and they short you on towels to boot. All that equals wet floor and nothing to do about it. Just dumb.
3) Walls in the hallway leading to the room were scraped up badly and poorly repaired where there was obviously holes.
4) When I asked if parking was including and if they validated, the person said yes and sent me a code. BUT parking was not included and I was charged another $76 on top of my room charges. I don't understand how they didn't get what I was asking.
Overall, not the greatest experience but it's Chicago so... what should I expect?

Located Downtown, within walking distance to major tourist attractions. There are great restaurants nearby, as close as the next block, and you're literally next to theaters where you can enjoy a play. I certainly had fun exploring the city and I enjoyed my stay; I would definitely come back. The only thing I wasn't able to enjoy was the hotel's restaurant because they were closed when I went, but it seems very nice and spacious, looking forward to try it out next time.

The location of this hotel was perfect for our trip. We were staying around downtown and able to walk everywhere.
The hotel staff was friendly enough.

Staff was great and the room was nice. Our onoy issue is after arriving from our evening around midnight we discovered we didnt have wash cloths in our room. We were tired and didnt feel like calling or going to the lobby so we used the towels typically used to dry your hands to take a shower.

Room was clean; it’s a nice efficient use of space with good lighting. The beds & pillows are super comfy and we slept great. My main complaint is that housekeeping came in to our unit without knocking while the privacy sign was on the door. We were nude and engaged in sex so it was very violating. They comped a night of our stay, but honestly nothing will make that feel ok - the combination of not knocking and ignoring the sign made it feel intentional. An additional note, optional housekeeping is great in theory, but there needs to be access to a large trash can so we can take out our own smelly trash.

Overall our stay was great. Perfect location, great rooms (showing some sign of wear and tear in hallways, but didn't bother us!). I only rated the service as poor because of the restaurant service. We waiting over an hour for eggs and oatmeal. Pretty sure there was one staff for both the kitchen and the front of house.

PROS - Very convenient location of this hotel. The blue line subway that takes you to the airport is right across the street from the hotel. Close to everything. Security guard at the hotel entrance at all times. Pretty new/in very good condition. Friendly staff.
CONS - I'm not sure if they are short on cleaning staff, but my room was dusty and the floors didn't get vacuumed/swept prior to my stay.
