Very disappointing check in!
The woman who handled our check in was downright unwelcoming. Stared at her computer screen for a minute before acknowledging we were standing there. And we were the only ones in line. She carried on with a real attitude during the rest of the check in.

The shower head burst, I sent a request to the front desk to come fix it, also to provide toiletry supply, nothing was done. On the last day we didn’t even have shower soap. I demand a credit because of the poor service I received. Windows were not noise proof, we could hear all the noise from outside. Breakfast had very poor quality.

2 week stay
After a 2 week stay, we got to know hotel and staff very well. Overall a good quality hotel with good service from all staff we dealt with. Rooms were clean and the front desk responded positively to all our requests. One of the cleaning staff is a very spry guy in his late 60s who was particularly thorough and super efficient and is known at the hotel as the energizer bunny
and i could see why. Complementary breakfast had fairly large choice of hot and cold foods. The self made pancakes were surprisingly good although the machine was out of order for a couple of days.

Nice option for the casino, which is just a three min walk down the road. Parking is free and fairly convenient. Breakfast is also free and decent. My biggest complaint is the elevators. They were very slow and only one was working, which was also used by staff, as there did not appear to be a separate service elevator. This did slow things down and there was a fairly long wait each time we went up and down. Overall, it’s a good value and convenient to downtown.

Another pleasant stay
I always stay at this location when visiting my daughter. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable and the staff is very friendly. Appreciate the nice hot breakfasts as well!

Property is listed as having “deep soaking tub” in the rooms. There was no soaking tub. None of the rooms there have them. Also, ac/heater wasn’t working so had to move rooms. They had nobody to check on it. Asked for late checkout and was denied. They told me only IHG members are allowed late checkout.

Great downtown location. Symphony Hall only a 6 minute easy walk away. Friendly check in staff. Self parking up the street, 30 seconds away from the front doors. The elevators however are way too small. Could only fit the luggage cart and 2 people could barely squeeze inside- very strange. That was the only downside. I'd come back in a heartbeat though.

The hotel was very close to the Springfield Museums and there were many dining options around the hotel.
I did not like the bottles in the bathroom. I prefer the mini shampoo bottles and mini soap bar.

I selected this particular hotel because it had a 3PM check in which is one hour earlier than the surrounding hotels. We were there for a cheer competition and had a 4:30 team meet time at the Mass Mutual Center which was right next door. Even though I had called twice earlier in the morning and was informed that they had several people check out, our room was not ready. In fact our room was not even ready until after 4:00. ONE HOUR after check in. Personally, I find this to be unacceptable considering I selected the hotel because of the check in time. After we got back to the room, my daughter showered and said there was no hot water. I thought maybe she was exaggerating or maybe many people were showering at that time and hot water was running out. NOPE, I showered at 6AM and there literally was one minute of warm water. Prior to writing this review I emailed management and called and left a message. Unfortunately, I have not heard back from anyone. I honestly believe there should be some financial compensation considering I paid well over $300 for this room when I could have paid much less and less aggravation elsewhere.

Check in and check out service was friendly and pleasant. I think I got a room that was a little nicer than I paid for, the room ewas spacious, clean. The common areas, back stairwell area were a bit rundown. Typical conti breakfast. Much of downtown Springfield smellls like marijuana, and a little makes it into the hotel as well. My room was clear of it though. 2 outdoor parking lots w/in a 1 miniute walk were fine. Downtown location. Easy access to MMC across street. Pedestrian friendly during the day and into the evening. The hotel was fine, Springfield not that great though. .

A nice place but be prepared for noise
A nice place to stay, comfy beds, microwave and fridge are nice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I really have no complaints about the hotel itself, but it was noisy outside. We were there on a Friday and Saturday, and motorcycles seemed to use the street as a drag strip all night long, there was loud music, lots of noise until about 5 am. We were on the 7th floor.

We were there for the first time and only one night, however our experience was easy and comfortable. Great location within walking distance of many places of interest. Nice rooms. The pancake maker was my favorite. All the hotel staff were courteous , knowledgeable and helpful, especially the the ladies at the front desk. We would definitely stay again.

Parking lot needs staff to walk you to hotel
Dangerous area of town, ambulances and loutering all over streets - although staff secures the hotel entrance area once you get to lobby. Walk from parking lot down the street into hotel is scary at best.

Super Dee!
Meeting and chatting with Dee was the highlight of our stay.
As a senior…I thought I was pretty active, walking over 20,000 steps a day, but Dee would walk circles around me!
She was efficient, pleasant, saw everything going on and tidied up tables like a Ninja. Honestly, we have a choice in hotels when we travel, but having the pleasure of meeting lovely people like Dee just makes our trip a blessing.
Everything else about our experience was exactly what we expected, but Dee takes it to another level.

The breakfast spread was disappointing.
The pre-made omelets were poor. No scrambled eggs? I usually take scrambled eggs and make a breakfast sandwich with an English muffin. Can't do that with a prefab omelet.
Cereal choice was granola, granola or granola and with 2% milk the dairy "of choice", meaning no choice at all.
Coffee station: Coffee Mate is non-dairy coffee whitener ( it's own description). Shelf-stable cream is available. Other guests along with myself opened the 2% milk and used that in our coffee, with staff frowning at us.
Breakfast is easy to do "right", and it is just as easy to do "wrong". You chose poorly.
That was what made my stay only "OK".

The Holiday Inn Express on State Street in SPRINGFIELD, MA was a nice surprise at the end of a long day of traveling and family functions. I git the suite that sleeps 6. It was very clean and inviting...the decor was contemporary and comfortable. Even the views of downtown were nice. It was literally only a 2minute walk to the MGM Casino. Breakfast was fresh & delicious! A perfect stay. The ONLY issue we had (and it's not the Hotels fault, it just happens to be the location) My daughter was badly harrassed by a crackhead hanging around the entrance, he would not let her pass to meet me back at the parking lot until another patron of the hotel saw and came out to help her...the patron then waited outside for us until we walked back from the lot and entered the hotel safely. Extremely grateful to him! We were also harrassed by another one hanging out front when we were returning from the casino, until he set his sights on the next unlucky passers-by. BUT THE HOTEL & IT'S EMPLOYEES WERE AMAZING! We had 3 suites altogether for the family and we all loved it and were very comfortable. Thank you!

All ok except breakfast
Everything was very good, except the breakfast. The first morning, the person in charge told us there was no milk. And also no pancake dough. The next morning there was milk but when the pancake machine needed a new bag of dough, and we notified her, it took at least 10 minutes to get a new bag. One other customer was waiting for it and returned to her room. As the staff person was chatting with a colleague, I stood there wondering what was going on and she said that she put water in the dough and needed to wait 5 minutes for it to mix. When she eventually brought the bag she left it on the countertop, walked away to do something else and I could read the instruction on the bag saying that after putting water the waiting time was 20 seconds before putting it in the machine. So overall we felt that she didn't care much about the guest. The other staff in the hotel were however very nice, especially the front desk when checking in late at 11pm.

Springfield's Best
Whenever we visit Springfield this is where we stay. Perfect location downtown near everything including Mass Mutual Center, MGM casino and restaurants, The hotel is reasonably priced, very clean, includes breakfast and has spacious rooms and free parking. I highly recommend it.

Perfect for Six Flags!
We stayed 2 nights at Holiday Inn Downtown Springfield in order to visit Six Flags New England. We checked in at around 10:00pm without any issues. We used the hotel as a base to travel into Six Flags theme park, and the hotel was about 10-15 minute drive, so was a great base. The hotel was clean and tidy, and the room was a good size. The area seemed safe enough, but we didn’t venture away from the hotel by foot. The car park is just to the rear of the hotel, and was free. The breakfast was perfect to start the day and had plenty of options. We had a lovely stay at this hotel and would definitely stay again if in the area.

The one they have from hotel is not safe and no liabilities if car will be stolen or rubbed overnight!!!

Wonderful Sat night stay. Comfortable room ( king suite fit 4 nicely), delicious hot breakfast, near casino. The noise from the cars all night was annoying. Not the Holiday Inn’s fault but the city should install cameras and cite the noise/speed offenders.

It was an unsafe area ti be in. Lack of security. Front desks lights off at 12. Anyone could walk in and get to any floor. Fridge didn't work, bodywash pump in shower didn't work and the light over shower didn't work.

Fantastic Stay
Very fast and friendly check-in. Easy parking. The room was spacious, and the beds/pillows were super soft and comfortable. Everything was clean and well maintained. The elevator is tiny, but it’s not like you spend much time on the elevator. Fantastic complimentary breakfast options. I’ll definitely stay here again.
