As a pet owner, I like that pets are free with your stay. That’s a great thing.
As a hotel guest, I would like to be made aware that my room is amongst the resident homeless population…… That was a little unnerving….. and a lot of smokers outside their rooms…. We were tired from a day of family activities, turned the heat up and went to bed, waking up hours later and staying in the cusp of cold for the rest of the night. The pictures I took of the heating/ac unit show a significant buildup of dust while the filters were filthy, with one broken into pieces. Burn holes in the bedspread. An overhead storage rack that is falling off the wall…..
The price is right, but you can do better….

I’ve stayed here several times with passable stays. The staff is friendly and I understand there’s an outdoor pool…. So maybe there are some good things going for it….. But it sure does seem to be sliding in the wrong direction…..

The room was dirty. The door's peephole had been damaged and stuffed with toilet paper. Drugs being used in other rooms and hallways.
It was so bad we checked out and left the same day.

Pathetic breakfast - only bread, bagels, and dry cereal. No tea. No milk. No protein. No jam. Staffer doing checkout was incomprehensible. Tub was chipped and in dreadful shape.

Terrible. Smelled horrific. Front desk staff wasn't very friendly or helpful. People are living there, and it sounds like a college dorm. Bugs in the shower/bath and on the floor by the bed. I've stayed at free youth hostels that were cleaner and more inviting.

This room looked nothing lijevthe online picture. I took pictures to send my wife. The tub was peeling and looked like it came from the junk yard. The room was old and tattered looking and it reeked of cigarette smoke. The couple in the room next to me were fighting over the conition of the room when tgey arrived. Posting pictures from years ago is misleading and false advertising. I will not stay here again unfortunately.

Love the backside of the property. Lovely valley view. The room was clean in the center of the room. The coffee pot had a layer of dust on it. They floor was dirty left the bottom of my feet black.

Go for the room; not for the breakfast
Great stay for the price. Big room. Huge bed. Good AC. Very clean inside and outside. No carpet! Breakfast was nothing but cereal and bread. Very disappointing. And I felt the sheets were scratchy but pillows and blanket were good.

Horrible! Found a used CONDOM , body oil and a sex toy on the floor, as well as dirty towels stuffed in a drawer. Was offered ZERO help by staff; told a refund was my only option! Health hazard- do not stay here

Go to stay but don't expect more than a bed.
The bathroom tub would not drain well and there was no vending machine either. The breakfast was only sliced bread and 1 muffin and we were with another couple so we had no breakfast.

Room was dirty, shower was backwards (turn water towards cold to get hot) the faucet was coming out of the wall, the sink was covered in limescale, blood on towels and sheets/blankets etc... Unexpected pet deposit as well as a pet limit not mentioned at all when booking nor in the fine print. No atm on sight yet require cash for deposit. Housekeeping not attentive. Pool had poop in it and a large hole in the bottom that could easily break an ankle

Paid for a smoking room but was put into a non smoking room. Mold on the ceiling in bathroom, furniture was old cause the drawers in the dress wouldnt even close and there were fruit flies hanging out over the sink and microwave.

Good Budget Hotel, a little out of the way off I-81 with signage to hotel a bit difficult to navigate. GPS directions worked well though. Clean and good good for the weary traveler to get some rest. Pet friendly.

Passing through...
Overnight stay after vacation at the beach. The facility seemed fairly new, the room floor was filthy, my white socks were a deep brown after a trip to the bathroom, which also needed cleaning.
The bed was wonderful, the most comfortable I've ever found in a motel. The price was a good value in spite of the lack of cleanliness. The front test staff was less than friendly and slow to respond to a help with the TV set-up (wasn't on-line). Didn't use WI-FI, elected to use my hotspot on my phone. Outside the rear area was junky, old cars in various state of repairs.

This place is pretty good. The room was very clean and comfortable. I liked that there wasn't carpeting on the floor. The pool was open, however it was raining the day we were there, so we couldn't use it. I like that its out of the way off the highway.

The address diesnt show up on gos, and when I called they couldn’t give me directions. Even when you can see this hotel from the highway it’s hard to find out how to get there. It’s very hard to find. Then, their very skimpy breakfast ends at 9:00! Also, we called because we had trouble with our tv. They said they would send someone up but they never did.

It is what it is
Not a high-end hotel by any stretch but for a low-cost budget hotel, it was fine. The beds were comfy, the room and bathroom were clean. The lighting isn’t great, which makes the room feel less inviting. But it served its purpose.
Breakfast is a continental only. No meat or eggs, so I wouldn’t count the free breakfast as a perk myself.

we had to wait for 15 minutes or more for someone to show up to check us in at 4pm.
The TV didn't work, the mgr. did get a rather rude maintenance man to help him change it. The TV was filthy and neither of them even tried to clean it.
the ice bucket was dirty and sticky, we thought it was an uncleaned trashcan. The room was very dusty.
The trub was not very clean, there was considerable black mold around the tub. The water diverter did not work properly causing the tub to fill while trying to take a shower.
It was our first time ever staying at a Red Roof and based on this experience, Red Roof will not be a consideration for our future accommodations needs.

Very clean room, well-kept hotel
Very, very clean room! Linens and towels were very clean and in good condition. Refrigerator had a small freezer for the blue ice bricks we use to keep our drinks cool in our cooler during the day, so grateful for that. Liked the clever idea of giving a travel packet of tissues instead of the usual box of scratchy, cheap tissues! Very pleased with our stay.

Th room was clean. Our toilet was a little rocky. It felt like it wasn’t secured to the floor. The hotel was clean but could use some dressing up like plants, decor or something to make it look inviting.

Worst stay ever
Absolutely terrible. I guess the short stocky Indian man at the front desk was having a bad night cause he called the cops on me and had me put out of the hotel at 2am cause I just got there and needed some extra towels. Don’t waste your time going there unless your a drug dealer. Better off going to the motel 6 across the way

Nice place. Have to tak a couple of roads when you get off the interstate. Make sure you look it up. Clean quite place. Ceral and beagles for breakfast. Would stay again

Our room was the dirtiest that I have ever been at. The shower curtain was lined with hair, the sink was dirty, the sheets were stained, one cover sheet in particular was covered in brown stains) and I was asked if I had done it (I gave the sheet to the guy literally 10 minutes after checking in). Why in the world would I stain a cover sheet and HOW??? I suggested he toss it. It was so brown compared to the one on the second bed. The door was filthy, the floor quickly swept and the TV had a terrible signal. I would never ever stay here again. I recommend that you don't either.

Perfect for pets and joggers
Great stay, we stay there twice a year for the past 5 years. Son goes to military school nearby. Great wide open place for pets , joggers, bicyclists.

Rooms are a surprise.
The room was a surprise. It had recently been updated. You could not tell that from the outside. It is very run down. Entrances are not key activated.
The dogs were out of control, barking til well after 1100. The outdoor entrances make for lots of echoing of talking. Lots of smoking😖
Continental breakfast was a surprise. It is hard to find in the dark. No restaurants nearby. Had to fight traffic for dinner after a long travel day

The hotel is off by itself, in the middle of nowhere-very sketchy. The rooms are nasty. I bought Clorox wipes to wipe things down it was so bad. The sheets/blankets were dirty and stained. I have never stayed in a hotel as gross and nasty as this one. Don’t do it people! Pay the higher price and stay at a nice hotel instead of this dump! They also charged me more than what my price on Expedia was

Linens and shower were clean. Sink faucet had spots from previous guest, the mirror was smudged from being wiped with a dirty rag. Counter looked clean but when I wiped it with a cloth, dirt came up. Floors were clean. Walls & doors were stained and dirty. It was quiet and the heat worked well without being noisy.

Very limited breakfast choices. Floor in room was sticky. Blood on bedspread. Beds were comfortable...but couldn't imagine how clean rest of bedding was. Wash cloths were awful. I use better rags than that to clean with. Overall...very disappointed!!! Will not use Red Roof again. My other daughter checked in on Oct 2 and wouldn't stay because of her room.

Worst room I have ever stayed at
Started off by opening the door and the strip on the bottom of the door fell off. Stains all over the chair and ottoman. Bathroom tub paint/seal was pealing off. Mini fridge was making horrible noises that kept you up all night

Arrived late at night and the hotel doors were locked. Could not get anyone to answer the doors or the phone. Spent the night in my truck parked in the hotel parking lot until someone arrived the next morning to check me in.

GARBAGE OVERFLOWING!!!
Not clean. Garbage right next to front door overflowing. Many “employees” who look like family members walking by and doing nothing. Bathroom had water all over the floor. Bathtub looked recently used. Toilet leaked. This was the second red roof in as many days and both were equally disgusting. Oddly, the pool looked very clean. Though it is probably maintained by a service.

Smoke detector had been removed. Shower sprayed from where it is connected. Room wasn’t ready but desk person called me as soon as it was. Only a short delay. Bathroom floor very slippery and dangerous in a handicapped room. Nothing in the room to indicate what’s around the area.

This hotel sits on a hill, set back above Interstate 81. Our room was on the back side which was quiet. Even the side of the hotel facing the interstate was pretty quiet. We had a double queen room which was ample sized with comfortable bed and pillows, good desk, 2 chairs & rack for luggage. The hotel does not have restaurants nearby and breakfast was limited to cereal, bagels, toast, muffins, juice, regular coffee. There are in room fridges and microwaves so you can pick food for do-it-yourself meals. Outdoor Pool looked pleasant and there was a gazebo with picnic table too. No hot tub. Hotel has ample parking and easy access off I-81.

Property walkways and stairways dirty and in poor condition. Breakfast was out of everything including coffee. Room was clean and comfortable. Fit my needs as I was alone. Would not bring my wife to such A dirty place. Seems like welfare people living here also. make up your mind- welfare people or motel.

Nice stay for business
We were in town for business. The room was mostly comfortable, the bathroom was in dire need of updating, the tub was clearly clogged as we showered each day in about 3 inches of water, but was all drained by next shower, clearly hair in the drain.

I didn’t really want amenities for this stay, so I reserved the hotel that I thought would be clean, convenient to access local sites and priced accordingly. It was all that, but the room smelled strongly of cigarettes and it felt dirty because of that.
