Location is amazeballs! You are literally on the Potomac River, smack dab in the middle of some of the best shops and restaurants the area has to offer. Super comfy beds, beefy pillows and a shower that is practically a religious experience (seriously hot with great water pressure). Lovely staff (especially the front desk person who rescued us after we got locked out taking our dog for a 5:00 a.m. walk – I will name my next child after you as promised.) Book now.

Our room was so dirty. The floor had not been mopped in weeks. Found food in crevice between bed and nightstand. The bathroom appeared clean, but upon closer look it only had a quick wash down. Lamp didn't work. Windows looked like we were in prison. Bathrooms in lobby had hairs all over sink, unflushed toilets, and tp on the floor. The woman who had the night shift, sitting at the front desk, grumbled at me in the morning when I walked passed her and woke her up. The only reason we didn't complain is because we arrived very late and had to leave early the next morning, didn't have time for conflict. Would NEVER stay here again. Their price was way too high for the quality of room and service. Only thing good was location and covered parking (which you have to pay extra for).

The property itself was great - well located, relatively new. The hotel had courteous staff but seemed understaffed - check in wasn’t available for two hours after the designated time, the bar was overwhelmed on new years, and the gym had a few out of order machines and no equipment wipes.

I stayed for the first time earlier in the year. I like being near the water and the walking path, that can take me to several restaurants is right outside the door. With that said, most of the time I ate at the Hummingbird right on their site. Food and service is great. It is always the staff that makes me come back though. Friendly and attentive.

Worst hotel stay ever! Checked in Thursday, the TV didn't work, they moved us to another room, while in our new room, a stranger walked into our room while we were in bed!!!! The front desk gave him a key because they didn't communicate with each other that the room was now occupied. Friday night at 2:00am it sounded like the person above us was rearranging his room, dragging furniture and stomping very hard. We called the front desk, they moved us to yet another room. The hotel staff was very apologetic and wanted to reimburse us for the entire two night stay. The problem was we used Hotel.com and they couldn't reimburse us. Moving forward, I will book directly with the hotel, that way, if the stay is unsatisfactory, I can deal directly the hotel management.

We found the staff to be so personable and friendly. The room was clean and well maintained. The area around this hotel is very nice with the waterfront outside of the back door and many interesting historic sites in walking distance along with food and shopping.

I loved my stay at this very cute hotel. The staff was very personable yet professional. The housekeeping team replaced my towels and made my bed no matter what time I left the room. The town is beautiful and very walkable. There were plenty of food options and the view behind the hotel is amazing. This was my first trip to the DMV area and this was a perfect stay. I visited the National Harbor and caught a water taxi back to Old Town, which was super cool!

A few points: there was construction (specifically sanding of a large deck) near my hotel room and the noise was unbearable.
There may have been an event at the hotel and late at night (maybe around 10 pm), in the floor above (I stayed on the second floor) I could hear tons of furniture being moved, loud banging, etc. Maybe items were being put back into storage. Needless to say, it was hard to sleep.
The hotel is nice, and the location is awesome. I realize the hotel managers cannot control outside situations such as construction.

Had a great time in Alexandria. The downside to our stay was the hotel. First moment we got there, no one was at front desk and after waiting for a good five minutes, asking for help, raising our voices a bit, we literally walked to back room to see if someone was there and she was on her phone. It was a great room, lovely spot, but the walls are super thin. I was woken up multiple times by people stomping above us each night we were there. The bathroom did not have a fan so anyone who stays in your room can hear what you do. One of the windows curtain didn’t go down all the way so if you wanted complete privacy like we did for being on first floor then you won’t get it. These are minor and main grievance was people above us but overall the town was great. Might book new hotel next time.

The room was beautiful! Plenty of natural light and good views of Old Town Alexandria. The room was clean and I felt very comfortable. Parking was trickier as the garage under the hotel was full, but the attendant was very helpful and I was able to park in the garage across the street easily. We had dinner at Hummingbird downstairs and it was convenient and delicious! Easy walk to the Waterfront Park and other restaurants in Old Town.

The bed was fine. The staff was fine. The electric sockets next to the bed didn't work. The hand held shower had almost no water pressure, though the normal shower head did. The parking is wildly overpriced, which I didn't find out till the next day and parked in another garage that cost a quarter of what the hotel charged. And sliding barn doors are always, ALWAYS, a bad choice for bathroom doors.

The transition of the parking garage to a public garage was a bad decision. As a guest of the hotel, who paid for parking, having the parking garage fill up and having to find (and pay) for parking elsewhere will influence my decision to stay at Hotel Indigo in the future.

The location of the hotel is great. Upon check in the staff was polite and welcoming. However when we got to our room and pulled back the curtain, there were dirty cups and someone’s belongings in the window. My husband took them down to the front desk to let them know, and instead of apologizing for dirty items in our room, they just replied thanks. Then our tv hardly worked. The sound would go in and out. Our toilet also stopped flushing in the middle of the night. The walls were paper thin so we could hear every single noise from all surrounding rooms. For the price for a single night stay, I was disappointed in the overall experience.

Very walkable to King street, shops and restaurants.
We were able to bring our cat which was great for a quick road trip weekend.
We are at the hummingbird restaurant and the service was awful- the bartender acted completely overwhelmed and it wasn’t even busy.
The toilet in our room was also running which made it difficult to sleep at night.
Overall a pleasant experience skip the restaurant.

The hotel was beautiful and in a perfect location. The staff was very courteous and professional. Unfortunately, I had unauthorized credit card charges put on my credit card by the hotel at 1:13 a.m. each night until I was smart enough to lock my card. No one has really been able to adequately explain this to me and two of the charges are still pending on my card over a week later. The others have been reversed but the hotel staff tells me that they have "done all they can from their end."
To be clear, the charges are inappropriate and unauthorized. I am told I should contact my financial institution and when I did so, they me I need to contact the hotel. So around in circles we go. Lovely hotel but check your credit card on a daily basis to make sure there are no unauthorized charges.

Have to give a shout out to Marvin. Incredible customer service and above and beyond in accommodating me. I had actually made two reservations because my trip got extended by a day and he worked it all out so I didn't have to have any hassle at all and was able to keep my room uninterrupted. It would have been reasonable to expect that I would have to check out, back in and move rooms, but he ensured all was made easy for me. Great hospitality!

I loved this property and will stay here again. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was lovely, the food was great and again the staff was friendly and attentive. The room was nice and clean. The underground parking was a huge plus since parking in Old Alexandria is difficult. I usually stay in Chrystal City when I visit, Hotel Indigo will be my new go to hotel.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights. We were welcomed by the most gracious receptionist at our check in. She made us feel welcome and at home. The hotel was quiet and very clean. Our room was spacious and neat the elevator. Being so close to the elevator we still could not hear any outdoor noise. The location was perfect for our purpose. The parking garage was clean and convenient for a fee. We will be returning.

This was my second time staying at this property. It is a sweet little boutique hotel that is comfortable, quiet, friendly, and in a great location. While it does not have the amenities of some larger hotels, that is one of the things I like best about it! I don't care for the food in the on-site restaurant, but there are lots of other options within easy walking distance. The room was large and comfortable. I wish it had had a microwave, but that was really my only complaint. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and helpful! I'll be back next trip to the DC area.

The hotel looks nice and is a very convenient location. But our stay was one problem after another. We were given a room that was dirty. Obviously had to change rooms. The hotel parking lot they said was full and told us where alternative lots were. We drove there in the rain to find out they don't allow overnight parking. So we paid $20 for a couple hours while we went to dinner. We then drove around in the rain looking for parking. Later that night we discovered later that we had no remote for the TV and there was no way to watch the new years eve ball drop or any entertainment on tv. We had to unplug from the wall to turn off the lighted screen to sleep! The hotel said they didn't have any more remotes?! How can that be? The next day we had no hot water to shower. They gave us free breakfast for our trouble. The restaurant tried not to accept it bc they were serving brunch not breakfast. We paid over $350 to stay there, it was absolutely not worth anything close to that! We requested a partial refund, but haven't heard anything about it yet....
