Pleasant Stay
Close location to downtown, ~15 minutes without traffic.
The stay was fine, comfy and spacious rooms. The walls are thin however and condition of carpeting was subpar. For the price relative to other accommodation, I shouldn't complain.

The lady at the check in was very nice. The hotel is located in a nice place with plenty of dining options and shopping. Mt Pleasant is a nice town very close to Charleston. Breakfast very good

Our Charleston go to place to stay
This has been our go to place to stay when we visit the Charleston area. The beds are comfortable. The blackout shades are awesome for sleeping without street lights or sunlight shining through. The breakfast is always good and you can't beat free coffee.

The Right Choice, Every Time
Stayed for a short trip down to SC. Couldn't be happier with this choice. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were always very friendly and professional. Even the continental breakfast was very good (although we did just eat there once since we usually were getting biscuits). If I am ever back in SC, I will be staying here.

When we entered the room there was a stale smell. All night long , every couple hours we were awakened by a knocking noise. It sounded like an ice machine dropping cubes. There was no machine I could find. I won't go back to this hotel.

The hotel was pretty nice and the Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great and had a great variety and it was kept extremely clean. The staff kept the food are very clean!! The rooms could have used a bit more cleaning and we had to ask for more towels, the floors had crumbs and glitter from the previous guests. We did not complain. The pull out couch was Not comfortable enough for anyone to sleep on and sitting on the couch was awful too. The property was close to the Shipyard and the beach and shops. Great location.

We could not get the AC on in our room. The front desk a remote was needed but nowhere to be found. It would be a good idea to keep an extra remote for such situations.

Staff we had contact with were all very pleasant and smiling. Do feel in the room, could use closer vacuuming next to the walls. Seem to be a lot of dust accumulated there. Otherwise all was good.

They ran out of cream cheese for the bagels, and the pancake maker was broken. The pool was a little murky.

An enjoyable stay. The property is attractive, in a pleasant and convenient area for dining and shopping options, and features some nice amenities. The pool is large and has comfortable seating and tables--towels provided. The lobby and common areas are comfortable, tasteful and can accommodate several guests. Breakfast is a great bonus. Food was plentiful and tasty! Our room was a mixed bag, however. While the bathroom was large, well lighted, and conventienty featured a walk-in shower (big bonus for orthopedic minded folks), the carpet needed to be replaced. The carpet was damp and dirty, and room smelled musty, probably due to extreme heat and humidity this climate sees. Beds were mostly comfortable and the TV featured some movie channels. Room service was good, and staff was attentive. Parking and street access was well thought and made getting around easy. Overall: I would recommend this property for a stay.

Great breakfast. Clean and very functional room. Loved the full length mirror with outlet and available shelf so two people could be getting ready at the same time. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again and recommend if you are in Charleston and do not need to be super close to the downtown area.

The hotel was amazingly clean. There were several baseball groups there, however, the hotel was very quiet at night. The morning breakfast could have been better. At 8am, there were a few items that were out of stock. So choices were limited. Overall, a great stay.

The employees are pleasant and customer service is good. Rooms are in good overall condition but maybe need a little attention to some of the cleaning. I know it’s hard in this type of establishment, but you have to give a little extra attention on given days. Overall, the stay was pleasant and the breakfast is an added bonus.

Good staff.
I had to ask housekeeping to mop the tile in the entrance and bathroom. I spilled some water the first night, and the towel I soaked it up with was black!
It was taken care of immediately.

Overall this hotel is fine. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is good and the price is excellent! Breakfast offerings were standard and met our needs. The parking lot could be a little bigger to fit the number of guests. Our room needed updated and a good clean. The bathroom was a bit gross. These two reasons brought down the review rating.

This hotel is conveniently located to Charleston. Honestly, it took about an 8 minute drive to get to all things Charleston. There's a restaurant directly across from the hotel. SOL has a wonderful bar and the food is good. I appreciated the Dove products in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable. Appreciated having daily maid service. The room was thoroughly cleaned when we arrived. A little heavy on the cleaning product (strong smell) but at least I knew it was cleaned. No hotel bar but daily breakfast with the standards eggs, turkey sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, cereal, pastries, etc. There's a mall near by and several restaurants. Close to IOP which is a big plus. Overall a nice stay and would elect to stay again.

The bathroom lights were too dim. This is the second Holiday Express and Suites we have stayed, and we provided same feedback for the Pittsburgh location. We thought it was a burned out bulb in Pittsburgh but it apparently isn’t. One side of the mirror was brighter than other side in both places. Otherwise, the place is great and the beds are comfortable.
