The hotel is a bare minimum. The only one elevator was broken and you could only use the stairs. Bathroom still had dirty towels on the back of the door from the previous guests. There was 1 ounce of shower gel left. The guest internet didn't work. They did help me get on the hotels internet. I will never stay here again.

The hotel is located between the beach and a major road artery. The area is safe around the hotel. There is shopping nearby and a grocery store.
The floor at the hotel was creaking. Perhaps this is an older building and the person occupying the floor above me seemed to be more noisy with his footsteps than you would normally hear at night.

Great for a quick overnight stay before cruise
My fiance and I had a cruise but there were no flights early morning before our cruise so we flew in the night before. The Meridian Hotel is a cute little boutique hotel with amazing service and amenities. There was a DJ playing at the connecting club and a breakfast bar in the lobby. It was also economical for a quick stay! We have no complaints.

The hotel is in a great location. The hotel is understaffed as it takes a long time to check in, retrieve valet or request for towels and no one ever answers the phone from the front desk. When you do finally get someone they are very nice. In addition, the VIP benefits offered from Hotels.com during booking were not applied or offered.

Photos of the rooms do not match reality. The room itself felt dirty and barren - most like a dormitory with no decor, white walls and bright lighting. It's very very far from a 4-star hotel experience.

Good location. Otherwise, not worth the cost
The location is great. The internet works. Otherwise, not a great hotel experience. Not worth the money (and it is utterly laughable that someone rated this as an “upscale 4 star hotel”).
Ignore the “we apologise your stay didn’t meet your expectations” nonsense that will inevitably follow my review.
Here’s the lowdown:
1. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everyone above and below you, and to both sides.
2. The guy in the room next to me got locked INSIDE his bathroom. The workmen spent the next hour banging and shaking the entire hotel trying to fix the problem.
3. They do not do daily housekeeping. You have to “schedule” housekeeping at the front desk. There’s often a huge line (10+ minutes). If you call the front desk, they put you on hold for ever with annoying crackly music. And when you do finally get to speak with someone, they then tell you they’ll come “anytime between 12 and 5” - so you have no idea when they’ll actually come. This is supposedly a four star hotel and you have to spend 15 minutes each day to schedule housekeeping as if they’re doing you a favor. Can you imagine doing that at a Hilton?
4. The bath towels. They’re literally laughable. Two tiny hand towels. They’re basically flannels. Literally - you’ll actually laugh out loud.
5. The bed. It sags in the middle. It’s creaky when you move. It feels cheap. Like it’s gonna break at any moment (i’m 180lbs).
6. The “desk”. Is tiny. If you want to work remotely here - good luck.

Do not stay here!!! The location is not as good as I thought. It’s a 20 minute walk from most of the South Beach core. The walls are paper thin and you will be disturbed by the attached bar, other guests, or hotel staff. This is basically a certainty. The parking lot is 5 blocks from the hotel and takes 8 minutes to walk to. The staff is rude and unhelpful. The place is generally run down and those pictures you see on Expedia are professionally shot to make it look much nicer than it actually is. Finally, WATCH YOUR BILL as the staff/management like to play loose with various charges (which I have had to successfully dispute with my credit card company). Just do yourself a huge favour and stay elsewhere.

I would not recommend staying here but it’s not horrible. I was expecting more from the photos and description online. Staff at the desk range from pleasant to downright rude. Clearly not everyone should work in hospitality. It’s located on very busy 5th street which if your room faces it the nights are a noisy from traffic and there is little to no soundproofing, my upstairs neighbor sounded like a heard of elephants traversing the Savana.
The best thing about this place is the truly exceptional coffee and home made baked goods served in the mornings from their onsite cafe. The girls at the counter there are marvelous as well.
The room had small weird glitches: many outlets didn’t charge my electronics I had to use the outlet in the bathroom and one way up on the side of the wall near the ceiling. If my upstairs neighbor took a shower the ceiling in my shower would leak afterwards through the light fixture which is creepy.
The worst possible thing did happen which was after checking in they charge you a service fee and out a hold on your card. My credit card was swiped ( normally I use Apple Pay for most purchases but was not given the option to did so my card was just inserted by the staff member). During my stay I was informed of several fraudulent charges on my account and I attributed them to the hotel not having a secure system. I never once used that card in during my stay except when checking into the hotel. So beware if staying here.

We were first greeted by an older gentleman who was not nice in the least.
We had an AC that kept showing an error message and we were told was fixed but kept getting an error message and was never fixed.
The room had no art on the walls except for a small 8x11 photo and our balcony was missing a divider wall so it was open to the guests next door.
We asked for 2 luggage racks and were told by the grumpy front desk man they’d bring us whatever they had. Eventually we got 2 but every request always seemed to merit an initial No or maybe. Your in hospitality why not be hospitable?
The only saving grace we’re the lovely women running the cafe and Luis C at the front desk.

I lost my phone before arriving and they accommodated my needs to have a wake up call, call a taxi etc. which I could not do without my phone.

The room was pretty dusty and had an ant infestation in the bathroom near the sink. There was also a leak that caused all of our towels and wash clothes to be soiled and when we asked for more wash clothes there weren't any more available. When we complained about the ants someone at concierge told us it was natural if we've been eating food in the room but the ants were in the room when we arrived. This was my first and hopefully last time staying at a boutique hotel in south beach due to these issues.

Very clean. Desk staff very friendly. They don't have ice machines but they offered to bring ice to room, after 40min and a 2nd request, we still didn't have Ice an hour after we 1st asked!! VERY LOUD‼️ Walls are paper thin. Actually heard our neighbor snoring. And people being very loud walking by in the hallway at 430am. Coffee shop prices much higher than what website lists. A mocha listed at $4.50 for regular size (all they had) was actually $7. Also says coffee bar opens at 7am was actually 8am, and worker (that lives on site) opened 10+ minutes Late!

My experience overall was good. Staff is very helpful and professional. Location is excellent. I liked the bicycles free rent and the free chairs at the beach.
I got upgraded and 1 hour late check out was really nice.
I have one incident that should not happen while we were inside the room, a staff member knocked once and opened the door right after to put a welcome card. This is something that should not happen. You knock and wait. Also a bit noisy outside early in the morning and at night from the bar outside but not big deal, you are not there to sleep the whole day anyway.

The hotel is super trendy and fun. The staff was really cool and helpful. However, self parking is like a 15 minute walk which isn’t cool. If you’re not sure where to go for it, it’ll take longer. The wifi also just straight up doesn’t work (even when it says it’s connected) and cell service in the area isn’t great, so don’t expect to be available for emails or work from the hotel.

The staff was friendly but were lacking in concern of the needs/request of the customer. I had to ask for clean towels repeatedly. Even after asking, I still didn’t receive them until hours later. I also requested my room to be cleaned and it just didn’t happen. I was told that they just had so many rooms to clean as if that’s my concern. So my entire stay my room was never cleaned. Oh, and the resort fee is bs! The beach is several blocks away and they only offer you two beach chairs. You can pay for that yourself.

Used this hotel for a one night stay before cruise. Greeted as soon as we entered. Staff were all friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Room was small but clean. Good for a place to sleep while you venture out in Miami. Very walkable. Onsite cafe and minibar. Definitely would use again.

I got the single king size room with the balcony! Very spacious and the balcony was perfect. The pool was cool and clean just a little small. The room overall is clean they just need to dust and mop the floor. Because its no carpet you're going to want to bring slippers or something because the floor is tile and will have the bottoms of your feet black. Def a great stay for the price. Perfect location.

This hotel is absolute garbage. I would not recommend this property at all. When we got to our room the guy was in the room painting walls but didn’t tell us. Ended up getting paint on my shirt. Then the lights do not work in the room. Went to hang up my bathing suit and the hoo fell out of the wall. Key card wouldn’t get us into our room had to have them re keyed. Just overall trash they use a really good photographer because it’s just disgusting.

10 out 10 one of the best boutique hotel experiences. From the moment you walk in you’re welcomed with a smile. Staff is friendly and helpful .. rooms are spacious and clean. Hotel lobby smells amazing, cafe has fresh squeezed Orange juice.. the minibar has the best bartender and fresh good drinks. Beautiful hotel and what makes it better is the price!

This hotel is a good one day stay only. I would not stay longer than that due to the lack of Amenities-(no microwave, no desk area to eat my food, no room service door sign) and the pool was uninviting and small. It was overall a decent stay. The location was desirable close to the beach and food areas. My second night there was a leak from the ceiling above of my toilet and my refrigerator kept turning on and off. 3 stars out of 4 stars.

The bar on the property was cute, bartenders nice. check in and check out was easy. hotel held bags until we left for airport. bikes available for rent. about a 8min walk to the beach. cute hotel, enjoyed my stay

This was my second stay this summer at The Meridian and I will definitely be returning. The staff is friendly and the area is perfect walking distance from everything. The atmosphere is pretty and the Cafe is absolutely great!

Called the second day for cleaning service, as there were aunts all over the bathroom sink and counters. They got in my makeup bag and hair brush. Nothing was said or done about that. The pool was way to small compared to the pictures online. We had to go several times to get the key reactivated, getting accused that we had it around our phones. I would definitely not recommend this property and will not be back.

I was surprisingly pleased with the property we only needed a one night stay till we boarded our cruise and this spot was close , convenient and easy to access , with lots of local places to walk around by and only about 12-15min Uber ride to downtown 12$ fair the room was perfect for our one night the only down side it was very small but beside that no complaints at all , we did land at 7am and the room wasn’t ready until 130-2pm but they did allow us to lounge around on the premises near the pool etc , overall 4/5 stars would def return .

Honestly, the hotel itself is great: clean, good rooms, friendly service, located in a quieter area yet not too far from touristic attractions. But, for some reason, many guests were loud and acted like they were in the cast of Jersey Shore. People talking loudly and slamming doors at 02am, smoking in the common areas, couples shouting at each other. I wonder why. Also, the fact that anyone can come in and out of the hotel without passing by the lobby is a little concerning.

Wonderful staff. Comfortable beds. Great location for beach and for walking to shopping and to see plenty of architecture. The pool chairs need replacement and there were no towels. The big downside (which I'm sure is temporary) was that they had no keys for the 2 days I stayed because their key machine was broken (bizzare). This meant you had to go to the desk and get a staff escort to let you into your room every time you wanted to get into it! Made it annoying to use the pool, get a coffee from downstairs, get ice, etc. In addition, the phones do not work in the rooms to contact the front desk, so you have to call from your own phone and go in through the key in menus to get in touch with the front desk. Also an annoyance. Wifi was consistent, AC was great and the shower as well. They do not offer conditioner only shampoo & body wash so be aware if your hair hates the salt! So this place was clean and I had a good sleep. But too many small annoyances that added up.

During our recent stay, we arrived a little before 4 pm for check-in (The check in time was 4:00 pm per the confirmation email). Our room was not ready by the official check in time, so we waited in the lobby as instructed, expecting to be notified once it was prepared. However, when I inquired about the room's status around 4:10 pm, the response was rather cold: "No, we're waiting to hear back from the cleaning supervisor." After waiting another 15 minutes, I approached the reception again, calmly expressing the urgency of our reservations and the need for a ready room. Only then were we told they would look for an available room, and we were finally checked in. It seemed this situation was not out of the ordinary, as other guests were asked to follow the same process. A previous group even had to leave their luggage and return later when their room was ready. The receptionist's indifference was disheartening, as if such occurrences were commonplace.
The room itself was quite basic and did not match the expected 3.5-star (or even 4-star according to Google) quality we had anticipated. Additionally, the floors felt sticky, requiring us to wear socks throughout our stay. On a positive note, the hotel's location was excellent—away from the hustle and bustle of Ocean Drive yet conveniently close to restaurants within walking distance. While the hotel may have received positive reviews from others, our experience fell short of our expectations. We sincerely hope they improve.

On first arrival all seemed good. Clean room with all we needed, if not a little minimalist. All white, no colour. Days 2 & 3 we had no towels until having to ask twice, including going down to reception as the phone system didn’t work. Days 2, 3 & 4 no bath mat to step out on to. A toilet that would either not flush or ran/gurgled all night despite maintenance looking at it. The big downer for our group though was that they rent out the pool and patio area area to locals for private functions and you don’t find this out until you get back late afternoon looking forward to a chilling out & relaxing time by the pool, following a long hot day out and about. The staff weren’t bothered and the manager wouldn’t stay to see us to discuss. And don’t expect emails to be answered!!!
