Disappointed on how small and basic the room was. I could have booked the park central for the same price. My error, but the description was nice but I feel misleading.
The staff was the absolute best! So kind and gave me the top floor and early check in, I greatly appreciated.
The hotel was basic, did not feel lovely. Good enough to sleep.
No fridge, no microwave and the two complimentary bottles of water were not in the room :( I spent an hour on hotels.com searching, wish I had picked a better hotel.
Again the staff are beautiful and lovely

I was in the shower and the smoke alarm went off. I was blaring for 15 minutes before a tech person took it out of my room. My ears were ringing for the rest of the night. It happened at 11:30 at night. I could not go to sleep. It ruined my night.

Everything was fairly new and beautifully upgraded. The breakfast is a step up from continental but nothing crazy. They do have a lovely free wine and cheese hour every day which was fun! The staff were all very helpful and nice. Would stay here again.

The hotel was in an amazing location- so easy to get to multiple subway lines. The room was really neat and clean. The only bad thing was emergency con edison work across the street which was out of their control. But the hotel was great and moved us to a quieter room. The staff was really amazing. The breakfast that was included was not great but that is not why I chose the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect place to stay in NYC
This hotel is perfect. Room sizes are decent for New York. There are drinks and snacks available at all times. Bed very comfy, hotel is modern and clean. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast is included which was a bonus. Checkout not til 12 noon which is great and they store luggage for you for free. Location is spot on to see all the sights!

Location, location, location. So close to everywhere we needed to go. Very small hotel, but they were very accommodating with the wine time and breakfast offerings. Price wasn't cheap and the room was small, but we would stay again.

Stayed 5 nights with a group of friends. The staff at the hotel were very nice and made it an enjoyable experience. The hotel is very conveniently located and walkable to most of the main attractions. Rooms are typical NY size but very clean and comfortable. I would certainly stay here again.

Contemporary Convenience
Lovely hotel and for us, a perfect location to dinner, theater and local sites we wanted to visit. Friendly staff upon check in. Unfortunately construction across the street at Carnegie Hall was loud and early on Saturday morning. Pleasantly surprised by a satisfying and served complimentary happy hour. Breakfast was basic, but sufficient. Smoke alarm was triggered by a steamy shower door left open. It was removed by staff to turn it off, but not reinstated. Thankfully no fires! Bathroom sink didn't drain well, but we did not request a repair to minimize inconveniences. Would recommend once construction completed, but not sure overall noise in the area wouldn't be an issue regardless. Clean and met our needs!

Yes, the rooms are smalla- But it’s New York, get out of the room and explore. This hotel is excellent - location, included continental breakfast, 24 hour coffee/juices, and wine hour, cleanliness, and service. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Thanks for a great weekend!

I always enjoy staying at the Carnegie Hotel. It is well located to all the places that I want to visit. The staff is always friendly and accommodating to our needs. I enjoy having breakfast right downstairs, and have had some lovely conversations with other hotel guests over the wine and cheese in the afternoons!

This place was awesome. I stayed here to run the New York marathon. The staff was very helpful, and friendly. The place is small but very high end. The breakfast was amazing, I loved hope they put out breakfast extra early for the runners, plenty of bananas, bagels, danishes and breads, eggs, etc perfect for morning of. The run was clean and place was very elegant. Would stay again.

The Fairy Queen at the Lincoln Center
Although small, our room was up-to-date and clean with plenty of drawers for clothes and a closet for our coats. The bathroom was bright and modern with an excellent shower. The room was also very quiet, especially by NYC standards. I would describe the hotel itself as a "pop up" with limited amenities. The breakfast was adequate but the breakfast room was cramped. The other issue was that only one of two elevators were in service during our stay. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay and the location was close to major attractions without being overrun with tourists.

The staff at Carnegie Hotel were super friendly and helpful! Though the room is small, the location is very convenient. Good selection for breakfast. The last day we had to check out at 4:30am but still were able to get a grab and go box. Will definitely come back again next time in NYC.

Staff was incredibly friendly and service top notch, always greeted us when we left and returned to the hotel, responsive to text requests. Hotel room was modern, clean and had option to reuse towels and linens for eco friendliness. Comfortable bed and pillows. Loved the bath robes, rainfall shower head and toiletries. Efficient use of space in the room, comfortable for one to two people traveling for business. WiFi reliable and small desk useful for video conferencing. Mini fridge was convenient but wish it was colder. Free breakfast and wine and cheese hour were a nice bonus each day. Also really convenient to have free water, juice, tea, coffee 24/7. Great location. Walking distance to many attractions including Central Park, Broadway, Times Square, restaurants. Across the street from Carnegie Hall and right off 7th Ave. The cute hotel decor with music theme was fun and could tell hotel was newer. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Would definitely stay here again!

On their hotel website, it clearly says “Self-parking is available and located right next door to the hotel at GMC Parking garage. Valet parking is not available.” That is not true…. It is actually OPPOSITE. It is NOT self-parking as we were hoping… and is Valet parking only. We were very disappointed about that…

Despite being on a side street, noise heard in 3rd floor was pretty heavy. Room was small but satisfactory. Bathroom was good. Easting area was small and cramped. Conveniently location with ease of walking to most of midtown.

Always like this place. Clean, nice style, feels comfortable, but simple and straightforward. Not a lot of frills, but you don’t need that. Comfortable beds, nice baths. Easy to stay here. Great location. Will keep coming back.

Front desk staff is wonderful. It’s close to everything, clean facility. Just could use a few extra feet of space in the rooms, but we’re only using to sleep and get a quick breakfast that come with the room.

Good hotel for a quick business trip. The rooms are great. The cons: no coffee in the room, the limited coffee/breakfast offered in the mornings is unsubstantial and cheap. Needs better coffee and more quantity breakfast items if breakfast is being offered.

You won't be disappointed!
What a wonderful place! Very convenient to everything. Quick walk or transit ride and your there. Beds were comfortable as well as the rest of the room. Even though rooms aren't huge, the set up of our room was well thought out. As great as the hotel was,our favorite part was the staff!! Everyone was very warm and welcoming. This is going to be our hotel every time we come back to NYC!

The location is really good, Central Park 5 minutes away and Times Square 10 minutes in the other direction. Several MTA stations within minutes also. Staff were friendly and helpful, accommodation was clean and well presented. Breakfast buffet was well stocked but limited in choice but of a decent quality. Rooms were small but expected nothing different in Manhattan, they were also serviced every day. Overall good experience, would stay again.

To start - I really don't know what four stars means anymore. This hotel is basically a glorified Holiday Inn. It has no extra services or amenities. The front desk exhibited all the courtesy and friendliness you'd expect from a TSA agent at Newark airport. The rooms are clean and modern, but beyond that - really nothing impressive.
The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location.

Small rooms, not very quiet
The room and bathroom were very small. 56th street was very loud with trash or other trucks beeping from 2:30am - 3:30am making it a less than restful night of sleep. Not ideal for a business travelers who need sleep and a little more space.

Small hotel, tucked on a side street. Location was perfect, couple blocks from Central Park, Subway right around the corner, accessible to everything. Staff is very friendly, room is clean, shower was great. They have a small continental breakfast, chips in the afternoon, wine in the evening and juice/water/coffee machine all day.

Great place for the area, good price, fantastic employees (always a friendly greeting at the door), super close to subway and Central Park. It IS a bit noisy in the early morning, even up on the 8th floor, but nothing a pair of earplugs can't fix!

About as small a hotel room as you can possibly find- like staying in a room on a cruise ship. No gym in the facility- which was disappointing. They partner with CRUNCH gym, which cost us $15 per day per person to use their facility.

Loved everything about The Carnegie Hotel and will highly recommend it to anyone. The staff was fantastic. The service was impeccable. Really enjoyed the breakfast bar, the availability of snacks, coffee, and juice any time of the day or night, and the wine and cheese happy hour was fantastic. The room was great. Loved that it had a refrigerator. The rooms are small as one would expect in NYC but completely met our needs since we spent most of our time in the City and not in our room. When we were in the room it was quiet, no street noise. Can't say enough positive things about the Carnegie Hotel. The location is perfect for walking to Central Park, Times Square, and Broadway. Great place to stay!

My husband and I loved our stay at the hotel. It had a prime location near all the attractions we wanted to be near including Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping, lunch/dining options, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, and more. The High Line was a bit further but we still managed to walk there! (We did have to Uber back!)
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room and hotel was small but clean and well equipped. They have a good breakfast selection and snacks afterwards all day. They also have a wine tasting hour, though we never tried it as we were out most of the day.
We had a small incident the first day we arrived in which the room key stopped working but someone, who I assume was the GM, helped us immediately and within 5 minutes, we were back on track.
Overall, we highly recommend The Carnegie Hotel. It is close enough to all the local attractions but with enough distance to get a good nights sleep. The staff and hotel were friendly and clean. The breakfast and snacks were great!

AC room temperature
I requested to adjust the AC in the room but it didn’t make much difference . AC was set to 68 but the room temperature was at 72+ all night. Due to health conditions it must stay very cold. Overall I give them a B+.
