Absolutely filthy. Our room had black mold growing on ceiling and all over bathroom ceiling. The mirror was covered in black spots and the room had an overpowering odor of mildew.

There’s a man who works at the front desk who is insanely rude, stubborn and condescending. He should NOT be working in hospitality. The rooms are nasty, there was terrible construction outside we weren’t warned about, the shower is either cold or scolding hot and ZERO water pressure. I’ve been to a lot of low star hotels and they’re fine. This one is the worst. Do not stay here

The property is near the beach and it was lovely but the surrounding part of the hotel was under construction which made it hard to park and the elevator was broken. It was inconvenience for someone who had to walk on the 3 or 4 floor. But overall is was good/ok stay.

Noise level on the room floors were loud from 2:00-6:00am. There was a homeless person blasting music from a speaker and singing just outside the windows that have a balcony which started at 7:00am through 10:30. The whole room was moist and damp with condensation when we first entered the room because the AC was blasting in the room prior to us arriving and the raining humid conditions outside. This moisture saturated into the sheets, furnishings, and left the floors slippery.

The online profile of this property is deceptive. It looks beautiful online. The area was not safe. Someone threaten to shoot us as we got out of car and went to building. The walls have big chipped holes, rust, hot water in bathroom had no pressure. Mold everywhere, plugs fell out of wall, or didn’t work at all. The place needs a serious remodel. It looks like they just painted it and did no repairs in decades.

We arrived at the broadmore on a Saturday night, the area around the hotel felt unsafe with many homeless around, there is only public parking.
The lobby is seemingly nice but very outdated and doesn’t look like the pictures, the staff at front desk were friendly enough. Elevators were nearly inoperable as they took SO LONG, we got into the economy room and it was so dirty, floors were gritty, light didn’t work, holes in the wall, musty odor throughout building, carpets were extremely filthy, hallways ominous and dimly lit like a horror film. We immediately decided we didn’t want to stay longer than 1 night.
Expedia helped us out but buyer beware this hotel is not what it seems despite the good deal, look elsewhere.

The property looks worn down, and the bathroom in my room has a wall that started chipping off. It would be nice if they renovate and update some of their facilities because they have a marketable area. The staff were helpful and there is a nice Taqueria downstairs. Other than that I like the location because it was near the beach.

It says on expidia’s website that beach towels and chairs are included in the $18 daily fee, but they’re only included from Thursday to Sunday.
The bathtub wasn’t very clean, it had hairs in it, the bathroom floor not clean either, the bed only comes with bedsheets no blankets, you will have to ask for them at the front desk: I know it is a cheap hotel, but at least some blankets are expected without having to request them. There was a duvet in the closet, but it had lipstick stains on it.
But the location is great with the beach right in front and a lot of dining options

Reservation was at Broadmore, but when we arrived, we were directed to a hotel next door in much poorer condition than the we were led to believe from the pictures in the listing for the Broadmore. A basic bait and switch. The rooms we were given were in terrible condition, for example no blankets on the beds, elevator out of order. This hotel should not have a listing on Expedia.

The hotel is located in a very good spot in front of the beach with many restaurants and shops around the corner.
The property is in very rough condition and the staff is doing what the can with what they have but is just a little too much.
I have to admit that a was very shocked when I asked for a baby crib and they brought us the most disgusting one I have never seen it was dirty and full of mold. I just couldn’t believe that they would bring such disgusting thing to us.
Also, we paid for a ocean view, however the windows were so filthy and cover with some sort of concrete spots that we couldn’t see anything. I’m sure this place have seen better days but the location was great!
Btw the parking is public street but we always found spots and it was cheap.

Our toilet was plugged in overflowed could not use the bathroom and our only choice was to use the toilet in the lobby. The front desk staff didn’t care and offered to give us a toilet plunger so we could fix the toilet ourselves now walked over our restaurant to use the bathroom, I will be asking for a refund

Surprise! You’re staying next door at Ocean Surf!
Beware! The Broadmore Hotel advertisement and website shows photos of their location and rooms. But upon check-in, they attempt to place you in Ocean Surf, a severely distressed building directly next door which is currently being renovated. Although The Broadmore is passable as a 2-star accommodation, Ocean Surf is a roach motel with stained hallways, the scent of mold, and rooms I’d feel bad keeping a pet.

The Broadmoor (Expedia misspells it) is just steps away from North Beach and right next to a public parking lot (which you have to pay for but that's not the hotel's fault). The staff is friendly enough and though I hate paying ridiculous resort fees (why not just include those in the room rates?), at least you get beach towels and lounge chairs when you walk down to the beach, so you don't quite feel like you're paying for nothing. My main complaint would be the state of the property. Our room doors were so sticky we had to really force them open and closed (our bathroom door close at all). Our safety deposit box didn't work. The bathroom is in desperate need of a remodel. You can tell they just painted over the shower tiles with white paint because now it's peeling off...LOL! And the shower curtain was clearly a DIY project. Smh. Also, our room lacked a phone and alarm clock, and a second nightstand would have been handy. Finally, there's construction going on just in front of the hotel which makes things pretty noisy. Overall, this is an ok place to stay. Nothing outstanding but we were able to put up with it for a few days.

It was reasonably priced, however regretted booking the moment we saw it. Didnt even shower it was just old and nasty, smelt like toilet bowl cleaner. Absolutely would not recommend unless pruce is your on l y criteria. Could be nice if remodeled.

Booked a room here. Arrived a little early, poked around the hotel a little bit anddd. Booked a room elsewhere. The hotel was dirty, looked nothing like the photos posted on the website. The pool area looked like it was just a dirty alley and didn’t seem clean enough for swimming. The whole hotel had a smell that didn’t seem sanitary and smelled of mold. Found it better to book a hotel elsewhere and not spoil the day.

Gross! This place should be condemned and shut down! They are just painting over layer and layer of mold and rust! The hallways are disgusting! Strongest smell of air freshener to mask what I assume is musk and mold. The rooms are “updated” with paint and cheap vinyl flooring, but you can clearly tell the place is falling apart. The pictures on the ad are so old, but all the furniture is the exact same! Highly grossed out and couldn’t even sleep waiting to get out the next morning! Staff was nice.

This could have been a fantastic property. It was less than we expected. It had a great ambiance, however it was a bit dirty feeling and in need of updating. Loved the 30's feel of the place.It was right across the street from the beach, as advertised, which would have been great but the road was blocked and beach access was a bit inconvenient. The staff was as friendly and helpful as could be, especially Pamela. There was a horrid storm the first night and into the next day. Nothing the staff or hotel could do about that. The room leaked and it became a wading pool. We were offered a new room but we chose to stay as this room was the only one in the entire hotel that had a balcony, which we treasured. Maid did clean up room. However not daily, we did not realize we had to ask for maid service 24 hours in advance. The restaurant connected was Fantastic! Parking was a nightmare for people who do not upload an app to pay. Some areas only limited to 2 hours to park. It was not explained well to us at all. What if someone did not have a cell phone? We will probably not go again, but it was fun and a thrill to stay in an Art Deco hotel overlooking the beach and live through a giant wind whistling, tree thrashing storm and experience the rain dripping onto me while in bed and making a giant pool on the floor, we were soaked that first night which added to our adventure.

We had a room that had complete smoke smell inside like weed. Immediately the staff accommodated our request and changed to a room where it wasn't smelling smoke. Good beds. No coffee or any other amenities that you'll need. Walk to morning coffee is needed. Towel service was good. Umbrella costs 21 extra. They also charged a fee of 18 per night not included in expedia. Food at their restaurant was not good in my view. 5 to 7 dollar per taco that doesn't taste well to my liking. Elevator is funny, smelly and runs extremely slow. Good people out there as staff make it a good place. I am NOT convinced with the resort fee of 18 per night that gives u two just extra towels!

Elevator needs to be decommissioned. Take 10 minutes to come down a few floors. Water pressure was of a third world country. We’ve have better water pressure in Jamaica. The hallways had an unpleasant smell. The room key deactivated everyday.

The picture they use to advertise does not look anything like the hotel. We pulled late at night and there were a bunch young adults directly across the street, there was a homeless man sleeping in his car with a huge dog. The dog began to go crazy when he seen us. Check in was the worse. The guy honestly didn’t know what he was doing. We were supposed to get a king size ocean view room but he told me it was gone, even though I reserved it. My boyfriend is a paraplegic fully confined to a wheelchair and elevator barely worked! We got to our room only to see there was only a sheet on the bed, I had go back and given only thin throw blanket. The staff was rude. Needless to say? I would never stay here again!

Absolute totally disgusting place to stay.
Cockroaches in my room. Upon arrival the bathroom sink was clogged and it obviously didnt clean the room as there was an inch of filth on the floor. The first thing they tell everybody is that it is a really old building, and that is their excuse for everything that is wrong and that they wont do. The paint was peeling off the ceilings and the bathroom walls, TV falling off the wall. No ventilation in building, whole place smells like the sewer. Water damage all over ceiling They scam you with a $18 per day beach access fee which all it includes is a skimpy towel. Also they don't give you a blanket in your room so you have to go and ask, which then they make it seem like they are doing you a big favor by providing the most basic items in a hotel room. If you complain they get mad at you, then say that " we don't make the business, the business makes us" whatever that means. Just another excuse for not sticking a dime into their building. This building will not be around for a long as the government will for sure shut it down, way too many building code violations. My advice is choose another place to stay

Don't book if you need an elevator!
First I was told I could check-in at 1pm for free, before 1pm for $50. I was there at 1:15pm and charged $30. Then I was given a room key only to head up to the room and find another couple already in it. And the elevator! Oh my goodness! It can only hold two people at a time and it is SO SLOW!! It'll takes about 15 minutes to take it from the lobby to the 6th floor which is where we finally got a room. But the location is great! Right across the street from the beach.

This property overall was good and we would use again for a quick overnight stay. It is literally steps from North Beach and an amazing beach stay. Only 1 block away is access to the bus system and free trolley for a ride over to South Beach or anywhere else on Collins Ave you would like to go. Lots of dining options nearby as well.

After I had already booked this property I started reading some of the reviews and was absolutely horrified LOL. Here's the facts folks. Although the Broadmoor is certainly not the Ritz it is well worth the low rate they charge. Being one of the last historic Art Deco properties in North Beach of course it needs some updating, but that is what I believe it's charm is. Just steps from the ocean in a decent neighborhood with dozens of dining and shopping options. Wouldn't really recommend renting a car as the hotel does not have any parking and you'll be left to deal with street parking and paying meters. Housekeeping doesn't arrive unless you request it, but that is the same with every South Florida hotel since the pandemic. The elevator is not broken but it definitely might be the slowest elevator this side of the Mississippi. We were there for a week and did not see any bugs, however this is South Florida and you will see cockroaches everywhere no matter how clean the establishment is. If you are an experienced traveler that doesn't expect caviar service for hot dog money Broadmoor is the perfect location !

Room i reserved was NOT AVAILABLE..new room was NOT COMPARABLE .no apologies..no refund.tv broken no toilet paper was given a 1 DAY BEACH FEE WAVIER of $18. They completely lied about their rooms being nice. They're more of a motel than a hotel. Wall paint peeling. Shower door so close to toilet can't be used at the same time. Elevator took 20 minutes to go from 1st floor to 7th. Couldn't carry more than 2 people at a time because of how old it is. At one point my fiance and I had to walk the 7 flights of stairs with luggage because it wouldn't work. The sheets Couldn't have been changed because they had huge stains before we even touched it. Moved rooms because it wasn't clean. Same problem with next room. Smh. Staff friendly. But not very helpful.

My friend got chased down by a man who thought she was taking a video of him even though she was just recording the rain that wasn’t even in his direction. He chased her into the restaurant that is connected to the hotel and apparently does this a lot! The room was dirty with black mold in the AC unit and on the ceilings. The tub didn’t drain. The elevator doesn’t work and when it does it takes 20-30 mins and you can only ride 2 people at a time or it won’t work because it is so old. No one ever answers the phone when you try to call the front desk. Even if you’re trying to call from inside your room. The woman that works there was very nice and chased the crazy man with a bat. So that was about the only good thing. I will not be returning. I’ve stayed here in the past with no issues but the building is so run down now I would never stay here again. If they updated it and cleaned it, they would have much more business and would be much more likely to survive in this economy.

Do not reccomend. Lots of homeless outside property. I paid for parking and came out in the morning to my car towed and I had to prove I paid. The elevator is terribly slow and the entire thing just needs to be remodeled. The stairs to the rooms reaked of cigarette smoke. I definitely do not think this is a “resort” Won’t be back at all.

I booked this then read the reviews and was terrified!!! Lol there were no cockroaches or random pests like the other reviews said…
Working with the staff was the highlight of this hotel. Pamela at check-in was an absolute star! And then, after a while, I got sunburnt and I needed an extra blanket and our overnight staff gave me two extra! The facility itself is a little dated, and the elevator works but is so slow! as long as you don’t mind a little exercise, this place is the best value place and has such a charm to it!

This hotel was just disgusting, nasty, and falling apart. Stains of blood and semen on the bedding. Cochroaches running all over. Bed bugs. Food rotting inthe cabinet. Rooms and facilities do not look like the advertised pictures. They charge a resort fee for access to a public beach across the street. The hotel just stunk horrobly. Broken windows children can fall out of. Electrical panels in halls unsecure, electrical covers missing, smoke alarms missing. Homeless people loitering around the property. I want a full refund or Im reporting to BBB and health inspectors as well as consumer protection division of Attorney Generals Office for falsely advertising.

This hotel is the worst we have ever stayed in, when we entered we observed that the entrance doors are completely abandoned with chipped paint but the worst part was when we entered our room, bad smell, everything was old and we saw many cockroaches, the rusty bathtub, no place to put our soap and shampoo, they don't clean the rooms, they don't provide coffee, no water, no coffee maker, no microwave, they provided us with torn towels, the elevator works extremely slowly, they charge you an extra $15.00 resort fee for each night. We had booked for four days but we only stayed for two and we had to book in another much cleaner hotel. I think they should reimburse me for the two days that we didn't use it. Believe me, it was the worst thing that could have happened to us on our vacation.

The onegood thing and only good was the beach walking distance from front door. But sadly the facility is very old, outdated and doesn't smell good. I stayed 3 nights just because I didn't cancel on time and regret my decision, Worst part during stay was cleaning services only happened once because they clean every 3 days. All bad reviews are true. Slow elevator that holds 2 people at a time and very slow we took the stairs every time to the 4th floor. Staff were nuce and gave us clean towels or blankets when asked but had piles of trash and tiwels in room since no one came after 3 days. I'd say to find another place if staying longer than a night.

Not so good and I reported it to you immediately! We drove 4 hours to Miami got to the hotel and it was unacceptable due to safety and breathing health. They sent us to a hotel next store and it was horrible! My lips were numb and eyes were burning! They charged me $18.00 more for amenities! We checked out an hour later and drove back home! Please refund my money back to my card!

The pictures that they have posted doesn’t match the actual property. The elevator can only hold two people and it moves so slow that the front desk clerk advises you to take the stairs at checkin and informs you that the wait can be 15-30. The rugs in the stairway and hallway were nasty. The pool wasn’t clean, the plumbing was terrible, and they had roaches.

Elevator is extremely slow. Was told that we could get beach chairs until 5pm, but when we got to the beach at 4, and was told we can take whatever chair is open until 430. Paint was peeling in thick chucks. Water was brown in bathroom. Fridge was a block of ice. Towels were child sized. Air conditioner was extremely loud. Ocean view was from the side of the hotel where I could see my car better than the ocean. Was told to come see them to change my room the next day. Staff was rude.

I had stayed previously on this property when it was a days inn, I loved it because of the location, this time it was a completely different story, rude staff, rooms don’t look like the ones on the pictures, there was only one staff member that would go above and beyond, his name is Serafin, he is the only one that made our stay a little bit better, other than that I will never go back to that hotel.

All I can say is Wow! My friend said, “this is probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life.” This statement is so true!! When we arrived, we tried to check in at 11 and they said they were cleaning the rooms and to come back at 4. So we returned at 3:35 and were told that we were too early and to come back in 10 mins. Then she checked the people that came in behind me in. When I asked about parking, she said she didn’t know and she hoped there was someone I could talk to that would know, but offered no contact info or anything else. You have to pay for parking($10 a day), but it’s done through park mobile so you have to update the parking every 2 hours because that is the maximum time you can book at once.
Then we go to our room and there are stains all over the comforter. Noticeably large stains(looked like bodily fluids) that anyone with semi decent eyesight would have noticed. When we asked them to change the comforter, they just removed them and left us with one extremity thin sheet. I’m guessing that the other comforters were all in the same condition. The bathroom was disgusting as well. Paint chipping, pink mold on the handles for the shower, and the handles were cracked.
The carpet in the halls and steps were dingy and dirty look with lots of rips and tears. On our late night, I noticed lots of bugs in our room. The pictures posted are not an accurate depiction of what this hotel looks like. I figured it would be more retro style, but not like this!

Fake pictures and crappy service
The pool doesn't even look like what you shown on the picture. Typical bait switch like hookers.
Shame on Hotels.com to recommend me this. The elevator is super slow and property is horrible and I have to wait on line 40 min to get check-in horrible. Shame on you guys

the property looks nothing like the picture. i was very disappointed with my stay. first of, right as you walk in you can smell how old the building is. checking in was fine but as we got going, we wanted to get on the elevator. it did not open for what felt like 10 minutes. our room ended up being on the 5th floor and that ride up felt like 20 minutes. the first room that was given to us was very muggy and musty. it smelled so bad we did not last longer than an hour. it smelled like smoke and dirty/old AC. the staff was very nice to move us to a different room and it was decent. it was still muggy but honestly its probably because of how old the building is. this room was definitely way better than the first one but this room had the worst smelling bathroom ever. it seemed like the people before us or maybe just a lot of people have smoked in the bathroom and the smell still
lingers. we didnt ask for another room after just because we were so tired and did not want to
move anymore. overall, the hotel is very close to the beach which was so nice. many great restaurants that we tried nearby like; little brazil restaurant, toto 2 pizza, million delignts, roni's by the ocean.

Overall, if you’re looking for a place to stay on beach it’s ok. I read the reviews before coming so I expected the worst. I mean we just slept in the rooms. It was fair, beach access from hotel is amazing though that was a plus.

The water pressure in the shower was like raindrops very light. You’re a bit of taking a shower and a sprinkler people in the next room were very on considerate, very loud and yelling early in the morning. A lot of homeless people around the area will never stay there ever again.

Run far away
This hotel was so filthy we checked out a day early. I really don’t understand how this hotel can even pass inspection. I guess the plastic bag over the smoke alarm should have been my first clue. No bedspread just a thin sheet to sleep with. The shower just dripped all night long absolutely no pressure either. No real furniture to sit on either or anywhere to put your luggage.

Multiple roaches in bathroom offered no Resolution by front desk .... needed the hotel room next morning for bags until plane departure charged Another 50 for the roach room . Never again will i stay at the roachmore.

Hotel rooms ok except the bathroom too small and mine was an ocean view ,probably the other rooms are even smaller , only one elevator horrible super slow and only 3 people in the elevator horrible we had to use the stairs all the time , they should fix the elevator ,never again

Property shows aging but stuff is pretty friendly. Rooms are cozy and comfortable. The safe in the room didn't work for me but I wouldn't take anything about that in regards to the over all stay in the hotel. Recommended.

I’ve stayed here before, I don’t know what happened but this place is a complete dump now. Roaches, rooms with faulty doors, bathtub tiles painted over to hide mold. Let’s not talk about delinquents having out side.

They first accommodated us in the building next door, not the same as the pictures. Then the room had cockroaches and the bathtub was clogged, my daughter couldn't bath. Through the window what was seen is a lot of construction andamios. When we spoke at the front desk, they didn't want to change our room because it was an economy class and they didn't allow us to talk to the manager either. Terrible horrible hotel. The worst hotel in my life.
