Room wasn’t cleaned prior to check in. Sheets to small mattress showing, rude front desk. Someone else’s dirty razor was left in the bathroom head board full of white spots. Blood old food or something on the floor. Place is extremely old and expired. Toilet leaking. Sink full of mold and dirty door handles has old mildew that turned green. Take a look at the pictures, didn’t feel safe posting during my stay. Bluetooth was nice and loud

The staff was wonderful!! However, the bathroom could have been cleaner. The bed linen was also dirty, the remote was sticky. The carpet was also stained. Had to walk around in socks. The shower curtain was even dingy. I must say the towels and washcloths were plentiful and appeared clean, but the shelves they were sitting on were dirty. Would not stay here again.

Roaches all over the place. Drinking lemon water was in vases for days.
If someone had drunk the water as you come in, they would have been sick.

Very disappointing, Sumter is not a big city and to spend over $300 for 2 nights is already shocking. Upon being assigned a room, we found bed bugs. We were placed on another floor and the 3rd shift staff apologized however the manager never said anything. The pool was closed and we only found out after we asked, no reason as to why. Cleanliness of the room was ok, however remodeling needs to occur. The shower had a small hole in the wall and the room looks outdated.

Meh experience
The room was ok. It was clean, but it just smelled wet and damp the whole time like there had been water damage before.
Also on Saturday the housekeeping staff left my room door open all day I left before 8am and returned after 10:30pm. I told the staff she said she would make a note and to let the front desk know in the morning which I did but they didn’t really do much just offered me a drink from the snack room
Being able to just push my door open was unnerving because I travel alone a lot and as a woman safety is key for. Anyone could have walked in my room or been in my room when I returned it was kind of hard to sleep due to feeling nervous

My family stayed here for the annual American Double Dutch League World Competition. The hotel was clean and the service was great.
The only recommendation is to have a variety of breakfast items. It was the same each day. After day 2 I was over the breakfast. Plus have extra toilet tissue. We stayed in the suite and had 5 people in the room. The tissue went fast.

Area had a variety of restaurants near by.
Did not like eggs or sausage. No grits served.
No bottled water on premises.
No vending machines.
Room needed general updating and cleaning.
Lobby chairs needed updating and cleaning.
Handicapped bath needs low step shower.

The staff was rude and unprofessional. When i had issues they said don't worry the people in question were on vacation and I should suck it up and live with it. The free breakfast wasn't open until a hour a fter said time. Due to the fact of employees not caring about setting it up. Not to mention cold food and limited choices

Choose Comfort Suites Again and Again
I was given a room designed for the handicapped; even though I'm not handicapped, but it worked out very well. I truly enjoyed the size of the bathroom along with it's cleanliness. Comfort Suites of Sumter has some of the most helpful employees I've ever met in my travels, and as a military wife, I've traveled quite a lot.

Disappointing
It smelled liked paint and weed. Our bed sheets were dirty. Our room was dirty, I wiped everything down and got up food and brown stuff (idk what it was). Breakfast was lame. There are only two pieces of workout equipment in a tiny room and one was “out of order”. The ice maker was broken. Pool was “out of order” and no one knew why.

The lady that checked me in went on a tangent of how her daughter only calls when she needs money. The room itself had roaches. I was laying and came face to face with a big one on my pillow. There were tons on the bathroom. The toilet was constantly running. I did not stay the entire time because I absolutely had to get out of there.

Worst hotel in sumter
The hotel was absolutely horrible the room was dirty. The bathroom towel had other people hair still on the wash rags the toilet was coming off the floor the bathtub had mold inside. The front desk reception was so unprofessional with an attitude.

Great place!
The family and I have stayed here a couple of times. Very nice and relaxing. Front desk is awesome and housekeeping are awesome. Everyone has been helpful when staying here. Location is great, across the street from Walmart and restaurants.

I have never been more disgusted by a hotel. The front desk staff was rude, our room and barely been touched, mold on the sinks and tub, the entire placed smelled of weed and to top it off their were dead cockroaches in our bathroom and room. We let the front desk know that we would not be staying and they offered drinks for the road…. We pre paid for this hotel and paid more for this disgusting room then we did for a resort in FL. After many attempts to rectify the situation with Expedia and the hotel we are still out over $150. Expedia attempted to speak with the manager of this hotel on multiple occasions only to be met with rudeness, unprofessional child like behavior by being hung up on. Truly the worst hotel I have been to.

Roach in the bathroom
We booked a non smoking room and were placed in a room that had been smoked in and they tried to mask it with heavy deodorants. Then they moved us to a better room but bathroom door didn’t work, one of the closet handles was missing and then there was a German cockroach in the bathroom. So we had to go through everything to make sure we didn’t take any home! Also on the first day the elevator wouldn’t go to the second floor so had to use stairs and we both have bad knees!

Disgusting place
The hotel lobby and exterior are accurately reflected in the online pictures. However, the hotel is disgusting. The sofa bed was unimaginable. The hotel has roaches and the room smelled moldy when the air conditioning unit was turned on. I will never stay at another Comfort Suites again.

I didn’t appreciate how the night staff tried to charge extra, and then speak to me as if I didn’t know what I was talking about. They eventually got the price correct, but the way they spoke was ridiculous.

Good location. Had unwanted guests overnight! Roaches! My wife sat up most of night. One crawled up wall while management was in room with us. Was scheduled for two nights. Management was kind enough to give a refund. Breakfast next morning as disappointing as the night's stay. Have stayed at Comforts Suites before, worst experience ever! Over Priced!

They could not make room keys, so they had to escort me to my room and open the door for me. also only 1 of 4 ice machines were working. Pretty easy to say that they were not maintaining the hotel properly.

The staff was professional , friendly and courteous. Maid service was helpful and accommodating. I was allowed to see the ADA bath for future reference. My 98 year old Mother was traveling with us. The care and attention they gave her was heartwarming.

Not my favorite
It was just "okay". A bit run down and just had a tired in need of repairs feel. I don't understand the huge busses in the parking lot every day. Pool is inside, but no temp control so might as well be outside. No hot tub for relaxing after days of long travel.

We booked the hotel for 3 nights but the room was definitely not clean and the room reeked of marijuana.
Stayed only 2 nights since was prepaid with no refund but checked out even though needed the 3rd night. Found a different property and wish that we had booked there. This is a sad/dirty property. Definitely not a "comfort" to stay there. Overpriced - $110. per night and then left early. Very unsatisfied and do not recommend even for people I do not care for. Keep driving and do not stop.

Out of a horror movie
Very disappointed with the room. Bathroom sink the water was slow going down. Notice roach crawling on the bathroom floor. Room looked like need a paint job. Staff was very friendly and always had fresh clean linens and towels. Breakfast was ok. Don’t think I stay there again.

The pictures show there is a hot tub with the pool. It has been filled in and the pool was cold. The bed was super firm. The bathroom needs cleaned and the wall fixed where it apparently had a towel bar that had been pulled down and mold on the ceiling. Cheaper of the hotels in the area, but still was not worth over $100 a night. Will pay extra to stay somewhere else if traveling through there in the future.

The hotel is conveniently located ten min frlm
Sumter downtown. The stay was comfortable and our room was spacious. The bathrooms were clean. The front desk staff were polite and helpful. The room smelt moldy so we kept the window open the first hour or so. The internet was slow and at times not working.

Old, Dirty Rooms
Only stayed here because nothing else around was available at the time, it cost about $120 a night and it was far from worth it. The room was dirty, someone else's hair was on the bed sheets so most likely we're not clean, the toilet would run non-stop all night no matter if you jiggle the handle, the lights in the entryway did not work, there is no toilet paper holder in the bathroom, the shower was disgusting, and there were several baby cockroaches in the bathroom. AVOID.

WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN
When we stepped off the elevator you could smell weed. The bed in the room was broken. We moved to another room on another floor. That room air conditioning unit at some point was on fire because you could see the burn stains. Found roaches in the bathroom and the shower was broken. By the timr we found roaches it was 4:30 am. Had to change rooms a second time to take a shower.

Other than one very nice housekeeper, and one gentleman at the front desk, the staff was rude. Stains all over the pull out bed. No shower curtain in the bathroom. The “breakfast” was nothing but a waffle maker and some mix. My daughter was trying to make one, and one of the staff members broke it down while she was trying to make a waffle. They handed her a packaged muffin. It was only 915am. We were in town for a funeral, so we were only there to sleep. I think if I had to spend more time there than that, I would have changed hotels. We came back to change while one of the housekeepers was cleaning. She was probably the nicest staff members we came into contact with.

Dirty rooms
Lobby was nice but the rooms were just not clean. They had a horrible smell to them and are in need of so many repairs. Floors had many spots that dipped in the room. Bathrooms were falling apart. I expected more out of a Comfort Suites.

Stinky and Dirty!!!!
The room above me had a leak and my room smelled terrible!!!!! The floors were dirty and the pull out couch had a dirty sheet in it!!! I asked to speak to a manager and of course ive been giving the run around!!! There was black stuff in the ice too!!

Parking nightmare
The room was nice and clean the only problem we had was parking we rode around for 30 minutes along with other cars trying to find a parking spot the reception at the front desk had no solutions and didnt care we finally parkedon the curb he said our vehicle wouldnt get towed theyre going to have to do better with their parking situation

Great location ...well the tub needs antiskid..... and the oddest thing 217 ( our room) had curtains that didn't cover the the window..... The parking lot lights, of which there was an abundance, made the room light up, lets just say that at 1:30am I had no trouble finding my way.

I don't know if it was the ONLY handicap room in the hotel, but when I got there it smelled of musty and past cigarettes smoked. The bed sheets weren't properly cleaned. The toilet had a black substance in the bowl even after flushes. We asked for a NON smoking room and got one that had no signage stating it was a non smoking room and it smelled like it had been smoked in recently.
The staff was nice, if a bit brisk when asked for something. Location is good. But will not be staying at this location again for above reasons as well as they removed the hot tub, the only reason we stayed before.
