Second time staying at this location. Once again, very professional and courteous staff. Very comfortable and well appointed rooms. They are doing improvements in the hotel, and the crews are very considerate of guests and really no inconvenience at all. Thank you...again!

The Perfect Stay

There was mold in the shower and the staff was just as disgusting as the mold. The property was under construction although this was not advertised, or i would have never booked the room. The property manager took my money and refused to issue me a refund even though I left and did not stay in the room, and my health was at risk. I complained to the staff and they were rude, ignorant and distasteful. This hotel staff should be investigated.

The room wasn’t too bad. A few minor things- the toilet always ran. The lock on the door was mismatched so it didn’t line up straight. There wasn’t a second soar to use one in the shower and one for hand washing.

Great Stay
Last minute booking due to family in town. Comfortable room and bed. The shower was amazing. Glad it had a microwave/refrigerator. Some places don't have either one. I would definitely stay again!

I liked the fact that everything was so convenient. All stores, restaurants, gas stations etc were all about 7 mins away from the hotel. I also liked that the hotel was on the same road with other hotel properties. I didn't like the hotel itself because when I first got there the toilet didn't flush and the bathroom sink was clogged and would not drain. The refrigerator door would not close and there was hair in the shower. Like the bathroom had not been cleaned. We were told at first by the hotel supervisor that all rooms were booked and we could not change our room but after refusing to accept that for an answer a new room was found. The new room sink was still clogged, took a while to drain, the sofa in the room looked dirty and had stains all over it. The refrigerator, lamps and tables looked as if they need to be replaced. One of the lamp's shade had scratches all through it. There were names and letterings scratched in the table and in the lamp post. All of rooms need to be updated. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I would not like to stay here again.

The linen was dinghy, the room furnishings were dated and well used. We ran out of toilet paper. It was a definite solid three star hotel. But I’d definitely stay there again.

Stay here and not anywhere else
Hotel lobby is clean and smells like home! The staff was very nice and welcoming. The room had some minor cosmetic issues with it however it looks like an abundance of care was shown for the cleanliness of the room and that’s important for me. I am one to wipe down surfaces before I unpack and it was not needed.
I normally stay at the Hampton inn…this is less expensive and nicer and my new go to hotel for Chesapeake!

Coke was wonderful and the gentleman attending the dining room was so courteous and eager yo assist. We enjoyed our stay. The only negative experience was the toilet that was entirely too low.

We were placed in a room we had to walk thru wet smelly carpet to get to. They had air blowers on carpet. Smelled horrible. The pull out bed was so uncomfortable. Parking was rough with all the big work trucks that were there.

Paid for a king size bed room and was placed into a double bed room due to the hotel overbooking. Had to speak to the general manager about getting the room I had paid for. The first room we were in had a phone with no phone cord, it was basically for decoration. There was a musty smell in the air and could not pinpoint where it was coming from. The second room we were in (the king size bed) same situation with the phone, it was basically for decoration. The air conditioner was causing the floor around it to be very damp and wet. The lamps were in very poor condition and barely worked so lighting in the room was very dim. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, the only good thing about the entire stay.

Even though the breakfast area and front desk was acceptable our room and hallways were below acceptable The hallways rugs were dirty and had trip hazards due to buckling but the worse part was our room's bathroom fan did not work and probably hasn't for a long time resulting in the wallpaper picking up and actual black mold growing on the ceiling, walls, and wallpaper and rust on the doorframe. We took pictures if you would be interested in seeing them.

Served the purpose
When we got there about 9:30pm, our intended room had not been cleaned at all yet. We were given another unit that obviously was not planned to be used as there was a commercial fan drying the carpet because they had been removing stains in that area. Consequently, the room stank. It was so-so, it was just adequate. Not the worst room, but probably wouldn't choose to stay there again.

The lobby was dark and dingy. The rug near the coffee pots was spotted. The hallway to the rooms was dark and dingy. The carpet tiles looked like they were repurposed from a mall.
The room smelled like bad cologne.
The refrigerator did not work. The couch was worn and filthy.
The bed was small. The mattress was saggy. The bathroom sink was tiny.
It had room for a counter but didn’t have one.
I only stayed there because everyone else was booked.

Wet carpets, room smelled like mold, room across the hall was condemned and boarded up for an arson investigation. Tried to leave immediately after checking out and they refused to issue a refund. Terrible.

My mom and I came to spend the weekend at the beach, and overall this hotel was great. Comfortable, easy check in, lots of shops and dining in the vicinity. However we had a room with a king bed & a pullout sofa bed, and needed sheets and a blanket for it. They were apparently out of blankets, which is a little bizarre - but it wouldn’t stop up from staying here again!

The room was very nice looking. The carpet was wet around the bed. The faucet in the bathroom was loose and the sink stopper didnt work, it was in the closed position. The shower was dirty, it looked as if feces was on the wall of the shower and dried.
Very disappointing.

The location was perfect. I was close to Walmart and other stores for shopping. The only thing I disliked was the bedding in my room when heavily stained. I know that it was clean, however because it is white I feel maybe they should change it out more often.

Our first room had ceiling plaster coming down and the carpet was soaked in this area. They did give us a new room but we booked a king and there wasn’t any available so we had to take a room with 2 double beds. Stains on the sofa sleeper, ceiling in the shower looked horrible and there was no cover over the batteries for the remote control so they just taped it. The hotel needs to be renovated and freshened up.

We had a good, convenient, clean stay. Bed was comfortable. Quite a few things in the room were in need of repair, but nothing was enough to do much about. (Fridge froze everything, sink stopper broken, lightbulb out, door need to be shoved open)
It was perfect for our needs, but the rooms need upgrading.

This was our third stay at Comfort Suites Chesapeake and each time we had a great stay. The clean fresh smell of the room hits you as you walk in which I love. Seamless check-in and out. Front desk staff has always been friendly and polite.

Pros: The bed in our room was very comfortable. Staff was nice and helpful.
Cons: The hotel is quite old from appearance. The flooring in the hallway on the 3rd floor needs to be cleaned or replaced. My husband is very sensitive to smell and noticed a stinch in the hallways.
The fridge and ac unit in our room were both quite loud, and we were in a room facing the highway...not a quiet place.

Upon arrival, power was down due to a thunderstorm. We were checked in but room key was unable to be provided, the machine didn't start working properly even after power and internet restored. But even with this, the staff went out of their way to not have this inconvenience effect our stay. We never had to wait to be let into our rooms, and everyone was very friendly while doing so, even though, they were doing the same for multiple other guests. The area the breakfast buffet is in could be larger.

Room wasn’t the cleanest. There was mold on the curtain for the window, stains on the yellow runner on the bed, & the floors were far from clean. Someone’s hair was still in the bathroom as well. One of the night auditors wasn’t the friendliest the second night I stayed there. Asked for towels they said they didn’t have any because housekeeping didn’t bring any down. Was supposed to be put on the list for service the next day. No one ever showed. I had to put my towels & trash outside my door & just happened to catch a housekeeper walking past to get towels.

This isn't my first time staying here, and part of the reason is because of the good first impression. It's location, safety in and around the building, the room itself. It's close to shopping and good restaurants, as well as the highway for whatever you may need

Room was dirty where it didn’t look like they vacuumed at all. The sheets on the one bed were dirty with stains, I had to request new ones. Both down comforters on the beds had stains. The room didn’t have a hair dryer like advertised at all. The room also had a bad odor to it as well.

Great Stay - highly recommended
The front desk clerk was very nice, friendly & professional. I was concerned when I walked to the elevator up to my room because the halls were a little humid & had a slight smell but when I entered the room, the room was just as clean & fresh as I remembered it from the previous time I stayed here. I think the hotel is at the pre-stage of renovations but overall, great experience & very decent room.

I always feel welcome here and the staff are always accommodating. The free breakfast is among the best offered by similar hotels. They even had fresh baked cookies for guests one evening. I will always stay here when i come to Chesapeake. I visit the area twice a year.
