Service Dogs Not Allowed
My stay was egregious.
Before I even arrived at the hotel, I had contacted them to tell them that I would be arriving with my medical alert, service dog.
I was told that the manager does not allow service dogs in the building. I told the representative that I wanted to speak with the manager to explain to her that if she denied my stay that I had already paid for, I would contact my lawyer and press charges for discrimination. The manager was not in the hotel @ 2:00pm.
The room I requested and was told was available on the first floor was not. I was told that the room was dirty. They are telling me this whole 5 cleaning ladies are all gathered in the front leaving the building.
I was then given 2 other rooms to try on the 2nd floor only to find out I could not get in because the keys were not working. I was told that the key cards are VERY old and the higher ups have refused to get new ones.
Finally, I was in my room and the only window cover that is available is a sheer curtain which did not close all of the way and this was an issue because the parking lot lights were shining in my eyes.
I am appalled that a hotel surrounded by other hotels would not try to be the best so people stay with you. For me never again.

Absolutely loved the lake view balconies. Sat and relaxed on the balcony all night. Sunrise/sunset from the lake view rooms is stunning. Room was immaculate. Clean, tons of pillows and towels. The couch provided a place to sit comfortably to entertain. There are grills outside to use for meals. I never once heard another occupant outside of my room or in the hallways. Very private feeling! Will definitely stay here anytime I am near Petersburg in the future!

We came to Virginia for our son's AIT graduation and stayed at Comfort Suites for 2 nights. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. If I come to this area in the future, I would stay again.

The area around seemed a little sketchy, like the neighborhood was not the greatest. The room was clean and just fine, and the breakfast provided was OK. It was just the area in which it was located that created a sense of unease for my wife and I.

The Best Service I Experienced Ever
Wow! Where do I start?. So I booked my hotel through a third party, for a cheaper price. I called the Comfort Suites in which I had the pleasure to speak with Daisy, I was calling to see how late check in was, due to my flight landing late in the evening. She couldn’t find my booking, mind you this is on a Thursday, and I booked the hotel for my stay for the very next day(Friday). I’m like this can’t be right. Long story short Daisy went above and beyond to help me get this issue fixed, come to find out a hour later there was a glitch in the system. After nearly 30 mins on the with with Daisy(before we discovered the problem). I then had the pleasure to speak with her manager Nae, she took my phone # down called the third party company, went above any beyond to get to the bottom of the issue, at this point a hour has passed. Daisy and Nae were able to solve, what could have been a disaster/headache for me, and they did it with patience, kidness, empathy and their pleasure. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel, and whenever I stay in VA again, this hotel will ALWAYS be my # 1 choice. Thank you to the staff at Choices Suites Hotel in South Park. I’m truly grateful for your excellent service, and for me, my best hotel customer service experience.

The hotel had overbooked and did not have a room for me even though I made the reservation several days earlier. Arriving after 10pm in a rainy night and having an unpleasant surprise. Clerk did not make an effort to assist me with finding an alternative. Fortunately Expedia was able to assist me with finding something close

I've stayed here before and been satisfied however with the construction next door, there was not enough parking. I had a handicap sticker but had to park across the street due to the facility letting non handicap park in those spots. Sink did not drain properly and refrigerator leaked.

When we first got there, I thought that the shower would not have a stop it. My husband just had surgery on his knee and I was looking for him to have a walk in shower. I was told there was no other rooms available that had what we needed. There was also no sort of compensation that was offered.

The details matter. I wouldn't stay again.
Of course, the pictures on the site are not recent. The room we were provided was in need of TLC. The picture frame on the wall was cracked. There were McDs fries next to the bed. The A/C vent was cracked and upon further inspection a filter change was needed. One of the comforters had red dot stains. We moved it to the side and didn't use this bed.
I didn't take a picture of the elevator --- it is in desperate need of an overhaul.
I am thankful we didn't spend much time in the room.
Upon checkout, I notified the front desk someone spilled liquid in the elevator -- there is only 1 elevator, I didn't want someone to slip. The front desk attendant said "Yes, other people told us, someone will get it soon."
It seems the team doesn't pay attention to details and have a nonchalant behavior.

Paid in advance for room check out time was 11 am we had to leave around 4 am they charged $76 for early checkout and couldn't explain why. Manager stated i should've read the fine print. I will never stay at any comfort suites again

Parking lot is small. Checked in late at night and there were no parking spaces left. Had to park at front door. Water pressure in shower is minimal. Other than those issues, hotel is nice.

shower was rigged to work could not take showers
someone took a shortcut and put a screw that didn't even fit for the handle to work. its hard enough traveling with someone in a wheelchair that can't help with unloading and reloading vehicle we look forward to a nice hot shower at the end of the day. didn't happen

Stayed here for a night on our way back north from Florida. It was fine. The first room they gave us was unusable because it turned out to be under construction for a renovation. Quickly gave us a different room. Furnishings were a bit older and worn, but everything worked AOK and the beds were comfortable. Heat and A/C worked well, and breakfast was very good.

Great place for my purposes. A one night stay. Absolutely overwhelmed with Jessica the front desk clerk. She went beyond in helping me get settled, find food, arrange transportation to the airport. Give that girl a raise!

Overall good.
Rooms weren’t ready at 3:30 even though check in begins at 3PM. Short staffed so we understood.
Common areas were clean, floors scrubbed and even saw them picking up trash in the parking lot.
Room was cleaned but the bed skirt was dirty.
Breakfast was pretty good. Typical hot breakfasts but hot, the room very clean and workers polite and helpful.
FYI-they vacuum the curtains on Fridays…

When checking in, there was a huge cockroach in the lobby. That should have been a warning sign to us. We also had cockroaches in our bathroom.

There was a party in one of the meeting rooms when we arrived. Yelling, loud talking and drunks roaming around. Very sketchy kind of people.
Lady supplying breakfast was rude. At 9:15 all the hot food was gone and when I pointed out that breakfast should be available till 9:30 wow did she get mad. By 9:30 she had all the food put away and was mopping the floor. Not nice at all.

Needs updating but relatively clean. however, the sheer curtains on the west window couldn’t close bcz they were hanging off the rod so we had too much sun to watch tv. The drapes were in a fixed position so they did t move. Really annoying having blinding sun in your room until 8:45 sunset.

Had an enjoyable stay! FYI: Pool not open
The best part about this hotel experience was the staff at the front desk. They were very polite and attentive. I definitely felt welcome and appreciated to be a customer which is something that you don’t get much of these days (Sadly).
One primary reason why I chose this hotel was that they have a pool. I normally choose hotels with pools for my kid. We were both disappointed to find out that their pool was closed due to COVID 19 restrictions, so that downgraded the experience a little bit.
My room was very nice and clean for the most part. Looks like some renovations/upgrades were recently made to the rooms. I opened the sofa bed to discover that it had not been vacuumed in while, and there was trash and dust and old room keys in there. We also didn’t get any kind of room service. The trash was never emptied and our towels were not changed out at all during our stay. I went to the front desk for more towels and they seemed happy to provide more for us.
Breakfast every morning was definitely a plus, and the laundry room came in handy.
Overall we had an enjoyable stay. Not sure if I would book again because of the pool not being open, but that’s just me.

The hotel was not to bad the room was nice, but it was mold in the shower and a lot of it. The check in was ok but I was charged 100 buck damage fee up front. It’s refundable but not for days, so instead of 166 the room cost 266 up front. The fee should have been disclosed, but wasn’t. Something others who plan on staying should keep in mind and be made aware of.

I felt like a yo-yo
When I arrived the first room I was put in, had an issue with the air conditioning system. It made a loud knocking sound that could be heard in the hall way. So I went back down to the first floor for the second time ( the first time being for ice since there was no ice machine on the second floor) and received a new room key for a another room in the same floor. But this time when I got to the room the key card would not work, so I had to go back down to the front desk on the first floor yet again to get a new key made ( making trip number three). When I did return to the second floor this time the new key worked and the room was fine other than a little noise from the A/C unit. But yet again I had to go down stairs for the fourth time for some more ice for the new room. All I’m saying is wear your track shoes.

Everything was fine, but the room we had smelled strongly of deodorizer. Probably from someone smoking there. The top floor rooms have bright lights outside that shine down and cannot be blocked by curtains completely causing light pollution in the room after dark.

Room 105 had massive brown chipped paint, gouged wood, a torn lampshade. The hotel had a government contract with the army. The lobby looked great, the other rooms may have been nice, but I was placed in a room that was substandard. I wish they had not rented this unsightly room to me.

The only issue I had, which really isn't that important, was when I went out on the balcony there was a bright spot light shining directly onto the balcony. It was dark and I just wanted to sit outside for a while and relax, but I didn't want the whole world watching me do it. I was on the 5th floor directly under the lights. It might not have been so bad on a lower level.
