Have stayed here before and enjoyed it. This time around everything was fine except for the "filthy" shower. Floor of shower was dirty, glass was dirty and long black hair everywhere...disgusting!! if I had not unpacked all my luggage and was not exhausted, would have asked for room change.

The night. arrived, I went to my room, and immediately noticed wet towels on the bathroom floor, so, I called down to front desk and explained what I had found, and his response was that if I didn’t mind I could just throw them out the front door. He then asked if the room looked clean otherwise, I responded yes until I looked around and the more I looked, the more obvious it became that the room had not been cleaned at all!
So, they put me in a different room, it was great, the pool was beautiful!
So, the first night was bad all around, but, no problems after that, except the fridge was broken and no microwave

Would stay again
Very friendly staff and helpful at check-in, room and grounds were clean, bed was comfy. We were only disappointed that the outside whirlpool/hot tub was not working (water was cold) as we would have enjoyed relaxing there at the end of the day.

We always stay at Sonesta hotel when we come to the phoenix area. We usually stay in Scottdale but we are working In Ahwatukee so we stayed in sonesta in chandler. The only complaint I have is no maid service.

Beautiful property and location is great. Comfortable beds and clean and comfortable. Last minute we had to bring our little dog and I thought the pet fee was a little steep. We were there only to sleep overnight, and she is clean and made no messes, and we brought her bed, so she slept on that and not on the furniture. She's a Shitsu/Maltese, so she does not shed. I know other pets are not all like her, just surprised at the $75.00 fee...

The staff was amazing and very accommodating. We stayed here with a whole team and they went out of their way to make sure breakfast was available for us. They have an awesome outdoor area to let the kids play and hang out. Extended late checkout was also an option.
The hotel is very close to shops and restaurants and they had plenty of parking. We will definitely be staying here again.

Very disappointed this time around. We’ve stayed several times here before and it was fine for the price and especially the location. For me this was one of those places where it was familiar, I knew the building and surroundings and didn’t care if the rooms looked dated or if underneath the A/C unit was never vacuumed. It was Ok. However we stayed recently and throughout our entire stay there was NO hot water! The front desk did not preface this information when we checked in. 4 out of 6 front desk agents that I interacted with were nice however the other one was Very off putting, did not make eye contact with me and looked down scrolling on his cell phone. I talked to the front desk manager and she didn’t seem at all phased by my concerns. At the time of my check-out there was still no hot water and according to her the Boiler went out. I understand these things happen and can adapt HOWEVER, I feel the hotel staff could have stepped up and Apologized for the inconvenience. Not once did I receive any kind of notice to say “we are SORRY but boilers out”. Instead it was a manner of “yeah it’s out”. I checked in on a Thursday night and checked out Sunday morning. The entire time there was no hot water to shower. This experience during my stay here at this hotel was HORRIBLE. And yes more than half the staff were approachable but the two bad apples brought the front desk experience way down as a whole. The front desk Mgr told me she was going to discount my stay and nothing yet.

Had a great stay!
Every employee we interacted with was friendly, helpful and professional. 3 electrical outlets on both bedside tables - really appreciate that convenience! Comfortable bed! Love the sofa and ottoman as a comfy place to hang out. Mini fridge! Full length mirror! Very long low bureau was great to have so much room to spread out my stuff. Starbucks in the very nice reception area! Great location lots of nice shops and restaurants nearby.

Young man at the front desk Jacob was a pleasure at check-in, the only gripe I would have about this property would be the free complimentary breakfast. A continental breakfast is the continental breakfast. I mean Best Western even has waffles and eggs and sausage. If they would improveThe breakfast I would stay here every time I was in Chandler. Staff was the best part of my experience. Everyone was genuinely happy and seem to enjoy their job. That's when you know you're doing something right.

The front desk person at night when I checked in was very helpful, nice, kind and professional. I was going thru a personal issue and he made checking in so much easier and seamless while making me and my kids feel safe and at home. Just for that alone I would stay here again. I’m not sure what his name is but if he sees this review he’ll know. (Thx honeybun)

It was clean! Somebody left the hair dryer on; so when we walked in the room the room smelled like something was burning. My reservation was for the first floor with a balcony. I saw two rooms before I got a room with a balcony which still wasnt on the first floor. Staff need to knw which room have a balcony and which room does not.

Very nice room
From the very polite clerk at the front desk to the room, everything was great. The clerk was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I got to my room and was pleasantly surprised, the room was very clean and in great shape. I had a courtyard view by the pool. Unfortunately I did have to leave early and didn’t get to enjoy the pool. I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

I love the hotel! We’ve stayed there before, since the last stay they have implemented more fees and raised other fees pricing. The young man that assisted us at the front desk became a little rude with our situation which I think he should’ve handled better. Overall this hotel is very nice and if you don’t have pets it’s better.

Facilities is clean and service is excellent. It needs some minor facilities maintenance. The aircon of our our room wasn't working. Thanks for the staff in transferring us to a suite. Some outlets on the original room are already worn out. My charger keeps falling. Sink in the suite is a little clogged.

I was pleasantly surprised at this property. I was in town to help my father at the Mayo Clinic post surgery. I stayed at The. Boulders for three days prior to checking in at Sonesta and the one thing that stood out was the friendliness of the staff. The housekeeping staff and it looked like event set up staff, ALWAYS smiled and said Enjoy tour day. That did not happen at the 5-star Boulders resort. Rooms were clean and had a. Ice set up. I would stay here again.

Thought that was odd that they charge you $5/day just to park on their property, just another hidden fee. They also charged my room for items purchased at their little market that I never bought, and had to have them change it when I saw my receipt. Better options in the area without the hassle.

I had to call desk at 7:30 at night to have someone pick up my trash and dirty towels. Housekeeping never showed up. Back door to building did not close on its own. Led to believe food and coffee was available free for paying guests. I paid for 2 nights and was charged for parking. Only good thing was air conditioning was cold.

I've stayed here before and really liked it, so I stayed again.
It was fine, but my room was NEVER cleaned! I stayed from Wed to Sat am, and was told that they only cleaned the rooms every 3 days!
Had to ask for toilet paper!
They also had left dirty laundry in a large hamper in front of the elevator.
No vacuuming of the rug, either.
What the heck?????

The rooms were decent but I requested a handicap accessible room for my mom who is wheelchair bound but got a standard room. Later in the evening I asked the front desk if they had any shower chairs available so I could get my mom cleaned up and after looking in the back the clerk stayed they didn’t have any. In the morning I expressed my frustration with the day shift clerk and he stated that they did have shower chairs available which furthered my frustration.

Overall stay was nice. Room was clean. Front desk service was awesome. Should consider adding yoga mats to gym room and cleaning the water filtration a little better. Pool area decent, pool could've been cleaned a little better of bugs but it is what it is.

This was the best place we stayed during our trip. I would recommend changing the location of the locks- the top lock in our room was in a very impractical spot (right above the locking mechanism) and didn’t sit flush with the door.

Stayed here several times. First time I've had to pay to park here or at any other hotel. What's next- paying to check in? Has a cheap shot feel to it. Not made aware of it until you check in.

The property is old and outdated and the couch in the room was torn and smelt of dog. The staff isn’t great as they are unprofessional at best and minus the location, it would be better to stay at another hotel like the Marriott or Hilton.

Poor service, uncleaned rooms, the lack of staffin
No one was at the front desk to help us check in for a good 20 minutes. Bathroom had crud in every corner, shower walls and floors were stained with a orangish film. There is no daily room service for cleaning. We had to stay at least a week to get cleaning due to low staff. When requested new towels we were told we would have to come down to the front desk to pick them up as there was no additional stuff to bring them to us.

Don't waste your money
They overbooked the hotel. The reservation I made a month in advance wasn't honored. I booked a room with 2 queen beds. They tried to put my family of 5 in a tiny 1 bed room. I was told a refund had been approved, but they didn't refund the entire charge - even after the manager admitted THEY messed up and I would get a full refund.

No King bed for us.
After a long drive from Denver to Chandler, Az., we arrived at Sonista at 9:30pm, tired and ready for bed. We were given our room key, but when arriving at our room, we had been given 2 queen beds instead of the reserved King bed. We returned to the front desk and was told that all the King rooms were already taken. Why did they not honor our reservation? Why did they not hold a King room for us? We canceled our stay, then sat in our car to look for another hotel to accommodate us at 10:15pm. It was horrible. And while looking on the internet for another hotel to stay at, Sonista was listed as having 2 King rooms available. Just not for us.

The property is clean and modern. The desk staff are very friendly and helpful. I have been using hotels, motels, inns etc in many countries for 50 years. Sonesta Select has decided to exploit the situation we all faced with Covid 19 to make a profit. During the pandemic, social distancing was required to curtail the transmission of the virus. For hotels this translated to foregoing daily room cleaning and responding to specific requests for new bedding, etc. Sonesta Select has decided to continue this practise after the threat of Covid has subsided. It has been able to slash labour costs, while still charging a premium room rate. The result is the traveller must manage all the removal of garbage, replace coffee supplies, report all malfunctions etc, as there is no housekeeping staff to be found most of the time. This has become the new norm for Sonesta Select, and I suspect the trend will spread like a virus to other properties. On our current trip, we are staying at 7 different hotels, and Sonesta Select is the most expensive, with the lowest level of housekeeping service.

Would not stay here again
I’m giving this hotel a low review because we paid for a king suite with a sofa pull out. When we got to our room it was a queen bed with no couch, we asked the front desk and they said they were fully booked and could not switch rooms. We had to share the bed with our two kids. The tv did not work, it was on a swivel so we pulled it out to check and the wires were all frayed and disconnected. The shower shelf was broken and could not hold the weight of our shampoo bottle. The carpet in the room had not been vacuumed as there was crumbs and toy beads on the floor. The pool and hot tub were nice, but we won’t be staying here again

AMAZING

OK hotel. Customer service is terrible, upon check-in I was told at 11 PM that I had no reservation and they suggested getting another hotel. It took an hour of convincing that I had a reservation ( did have confirmation ) Also, they do not have daily housekeeping....

Stayed here 1 night for a volleyball tournament. Hotel is in a great location with several stores and food options around. My 1 complaint about this property is being charged for parking. I was charged $5 to park my vehicle on property. Why charge me when I’m already paying over $200 for a night, the additional charge to park my car there is ridiculous. I was told to leave my receipt on my dash to show I paid for parking. I looked at 5 other vehicles that did not have theirs on their dash.
