The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The amenities were pretty basic, but updated. We did not enjoy the accessibility of the hotel in terms of going between floors. There was no option to go down to the ground floor via stairs besides an emergency exit which we did not like at all. The elevators were very loud and being that we stayed during a holiday, lots of traffic.

Great value and location.
The hotel offers great value and location for the price. The staff was very helpful. My only criticism is that there were never towels at the hotel pool. We called each time and then it took quite a while (typically over 30 minutes) for them to arrive.

Could not use our window blinds. Don't know why this was done but the property either removed the blind chain or never fixed it. Could not turn TV up to a decent volume unless your 10 years old with perfect hearing and even then questionable. Elevator was dark dingy and needed paint and a more lively look. Bathroom shower is ridiculous narrow about 24" wide.

The staff across the board was fantastic! Room was perfectly great. Loved the adjacent Starbucks hours downstairs but wd be great to offer some type of breakfast amenity option during marathon weekend. Some hotels provide free coffee, bagels, bananas in the lobby to the participants before they take off around 5:30am.

For a busy big city, this hotel was very clean and the updated amenities were nice! The staff were also very helpful, professional, and friendly! As we were traveling for a big race, we were out most of the day and it was nice to have a great convenient stay that was easy to get to at the end of the day! Nearby were many dining options to go to or take-out from, which was a definite plus!

Great hotel - terribly noisy neighborhood!
My only concern was the noise level. People SCREAMING in the lobby and outside on the street until 4 am in the morning...I didn't sleep at all there but the hotel and service is fantastic. It's a shame but I'd probably not stay there again.

The property was nice if you never left. Surrounding area felt unsafe and dirty. We accidentally left clothes in closet and when we called to ask about them told nothing was turned in by housekeeping. My husband would be visable on hotel survalience wearing the lost items Fri and Sat.

I did an overnight stay and was very impressed by all the staff I interacted with at this hotel. They were all so attentive and friendly. The hotel was so clean and well kept. The room was comfortable. I wish they had a restaurant on site for dinner; they only have a cafe for breakfast. There are restaurants within walking distance, though. We’ll definitely be back!

Great Accommodations and Location
Rooms are updated and comfortable. Full size body wash, shampoo and conditioner are a plus. All employees were friendly. Lobby doors lock in the evening and security is on site.
Location is great. Walking distance to river, train, restaurants, shopping, theater.

Solid ok
Our stay was a solid OK. We had what we needed. The door to our room and our bathroom both stuck and we had to really pull them to open. The beds were definitely smaller than queens. The hotel seemed a bit older but pretty clean and solid. Nothing super fancy or exciting. The location is great and check in/out was quick and easy.

This Courtyard was in the perfect location in River North. Staff was very helpful, friendly and went out of their way to assist us. The only downside is nighttime noise, which is to be expected when you are close to restaurants and Chicago nightlife. Overall, a great place!

Nice property, noisy location
Nice hotel overall but noisy location. Seemed close to a fire station. Sirens frequently throughout the day and night and lots of other traffic noises, horns etc. Hard to get a good night's sleep if you are a light sleeper. Was on the 11th floor. Moved to a different hotel (was part of the planned stay in Chicago) much quieter... But on 21st floor at the next hotel. Quieter section of the city it seems.. On E Monroe.

My girlfriends decided to spend a weekend in Chicago and this place was a perfect spot located by so many restaurants and all the tourist activities where walkable . We did not have to get a Uber no anywhere . Clubs were 10 min away which was great. Would definitely stay here again . Everyone was polite .

I liked how close we were to everything we wanted to see. What I didn’t like was the cost of the deposit. My friends and I were there for one night and the cost of the deposit was more than the cost of the room! Also there was no option for anything other than valet parking if you wanted to park at the hotel, which was $72… I would have been happy to park my own car. But of course we were told that “you can park elsewhere but you’ll just have to keep moving your car or it’s far away”. As for the room, the bathroom handle was broken and the room was very small. A little later we wanted to check out the pool/spa/sauna, only to find out at 1030 the pool was locked and our keys wouldn’t work. When we called the front desk at 1036, I was told that they lock you out at 15 mins to 11 because they closed at 11. Which is fine, but it was 1036, so there was still 25 mins left until the pool closed. The gentleman at the desk told us he’d come down and let us in, and even when we said hello or looked at us, it felt like us being in the pool area was a big inconvenience. Once we finally got in the pool area, we noticed there was no “spa” or hot tub, we assumed that because it said pool/spa/sauna there would be one but there was not. Minor technicality but it was still disappointing. Hopefully this was just a one time experience.

This is a very convenient hotel if you want easy access to the Magnificent Mile. And the people who work there were all wonderful. From the doormen (like John) who were always ready with a friendly greeting to the folks behind the desk.
The only downside, which is not the fault of the hotel at all, is there is a fire station nearby and a couple of the nights they were really busy and we heard the sirens. Over and over and over.
But overall, sirens and all, I'd stay here again because the rooms had everything we needed and it really is a convenient location. Plus, the staff was not only helpful but friendly. And there was good security, which...the area isn't exactly rough, but there were a few sketchy folks hanging around. I liked the hotel kept guests' comfort and safety in mind.

Fall Break Family Trip
We had a great experience staying at the Marriott. We were greeted with smiles & pleasantries. Were able to get in to our room early and the front desk even recommended lunch options for us. Location - we were able to walk to most places we had planned on visiting. Places where we needed a ride were easily accessible & valets were always willing to help us determine best transportation to take. They were very friendly and kind - especially to our kids. Would stay here again!

Recently renovated room was clean and comfortable. It seemed like the renovation wasn't complete. Nice staff very accomodating. Location was good for what I wanted to do, walking distance to our restaurant choice. But, the traffic noise, sirens every 40 minutes, loud cars music and sound from nearby bars was so loud that we could not sleep. Even on the 10th floor it was like they were in the room with us.

Major construction going on caused disruptions to reception, the elevators, and the gym. Cleaning service knocked loudly on our door at 8am on a saturnday morning and then barged in while we were still sleeping. The front desk people were very polite and apologetic.

While the staff was great, I was told my room type (King Suite) was not available upon check-in. I had to settle for a smaller room. Upon entering the room, the A/C was off and a big industrial fan was drying a very wet carpet near the A/C unit. The room smelled moldy and damp and should not have been assigned.
One of 3 elevators was out of service.
Restaurant was closed. No breakfast was offered.
No bar soap was in the bathroom. You had to access the shower to get a pump of soap.
The hotel was for "partiers". LOUD, noisy, all night long. Beer cans and trash lined the hallways.
The A/C unit continued to leak the 2 days I was there. Homeless people and beggers lined the streets. Guests were smoking marijuana at the entrance to the hotel.

Loud Jack hammer 9-3 all day. Parking structure next door is under construction. The hotel itself is also still under construction which the website says was to have been finished in May. I received no notification that it was still under construction. The ONLY reason we stayed, 1.the rooms were newly renovated, 2. EVERY staff member we dealt with was GREAT!

The hotel was under renovation. Lots of noise. Our A/C leaked and the carpet was always wet. Even after we called them to fix it. Which they did come in and out in a blower to dry out the carpet. But the next day the carpet was wet again from the leaking a/c. They did offer to give us a different room, but we were checking out the next day so just walked around the wet carpet.
When we checked in they did tell us about the renovation noise.

The location was great. The room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed on 4th of July weekend so the city was pretty hype. It got very loud at night until about 4am which made it difficult to sleep. Other than that if you're looking for a place to stay that's near every restaurant or bar, this is the best spot.

The staff here was wonderful under difficult conditions. I completely understand construction for renovations. What I don't understand is NOT MAKING PEOPLE AWARE. I chose this hotel for my second trip to Chicago because of it's location. I travel alone for business and always choose a property with a restaurant .There was no restaurant open at this location. I also look for outdoor space. I was sent "up the block , through another property, through their security, up to the 6th floor...down the hall...through the gym...only to find the doors taped off DO NOT ENTER..

The room was on a street that had alot of noise way into the early hours. We got very little sleep both nights we were there and we were on the 11th floor! Construction right by our rooms got us up early so I would not recommend this location.
