It’s time for this hotel to be updated. Bathroom and furniture need updating. If you make reservation through Expedia, you will be offered one of the less ideal rooms. I was told I two choices - I had to have a room on the first floor unless I wanted one across from the elevator and ice machine on the second floor. hallway noise is loud. Will not be staying here again.

Always a great stay!
As I have to have medical treatments on my eyes each month, I stay here once a month. Love the staff, best customer service and management around. Rooms are comfortable, food is great. Biggest bang for my buck!

It was a great hotel, everything you expect from a great hotel. The pool was the only issue we had. It wasn't clean the first day we tried to use it. The next day it was sort of clean but it was warm. They said it was a "heated" pool. A little too warm for me. There were some hotels in the area that didn't have a pool available to use after Labor Day. So I was happy that we had one working.

The TV is mostly sports and news. Rooms do not come with a microwave. The fridge is tiny. The bed is hard. The pillows were nice. The balcony was nice but no chairs to sit out on it. Looks over a grocery store and parking lot. You have to buy coffee and breakfast. A handicapped room with NO safety bars near the toilet? Even though they advertise that there is one. Hmmmm. Checking out and going to the hotel next door.

No microwave inside room. No free breakfast. Small rooms not made for a family of four. Tiny bathroom and vanity area. Old fixtures. Shower took awhile to heat up. Tiny refrigerator only room for two six packs of soda. Hotel not properly labeled to be seen from the street. When asked about dining near the hotel no one could answer me and then another guest told me to search Google for dining information. The sign says Bistro not Marriott Courtyard. I have paid less for hotels in the areas and got better amenities and service.

This hotel was not up to the typical Courtyard standards. The hotel is old and you can tell. It was fairly clean, but not exceptional. We had a 2 night stay and they didn’t clean after the first night or replace towels. We asked for towels at the front desk and they wanted to charge us! Great Asian market next door- we had a lot of fun exploring!

Not as good as it should have been
The folks at check in were very helpful... the hotel is a bit "worn". The breakfast crew were understaff and after waiting for over 10 min for a tea and bagel... I told them I couldn't wait any longer and left after paying but without my breakfast... I asked the night desk clerk to reimburse me... it didn't happen...

I stayed here last weekend and this past weekend my first weekend was wonderful. This go around I was not happy at all the headboard was not cleaned the ice machine didn’t work I was having a problem with the TVs and I had somebody next to me that just kept slamming the doors every 2 mins. The young lady at the front is always nice and sweet and she helped me out as much as she could but I’m disappointed

It was just okay.We found it lacked USB chargers. The shower was not very powerful, and as an elderly person the shower needs more safety bars. The refrigerator door did not hold bottles. Overall the beds were comfortable and the rooms clean.

I booked the double Queen suite months in advance for my graduation. I arrive to be told that the room was already taken. The front desk person was super nice, but admittedly ‘new’ & couldn’t get any manager to answer her calls. I took a downgraded room as my family & I needed a place to stay. I was then charged the full amount for a suite I did NOT stay in! I felt horrible for the front desk person who was there alone and clearly overwhelmed and swamped with people!

Very friendly staff.
The staff was so friendly and willing to help. Went to the bistro; all the cocktails listed on the menu were not available. They didn't have mixes to make drinks or the alcohol was not there; advertised a margarita but had no tequila. The room was very clean; loved the set up of the room.

Not worth it
This staff was not well trained and how to manage computer concerns. The booking system was down and about 12 guests were left stranded in the lobby at 11:30 at night after what I’m sure had been a very long day for each and everyone of them. We waited for over an hour to get our rooms. No apology was tendered.

The pool was very nice and clean, with towels available and an attendant.
The lobby/lounge area was quite nice for our group of soccer parents to hangout and chat.
The grounds and rooms were very clean.
Cons:
Not offering a continental breakfast was VERY inconvenient and is the main reason we'll never stay again.
Everything, including an apple or banana, is a charge and is very expensive. There are a few places to get stuff in the area.
Bed was extremely hard and gave me a backache.
Toiletries was a tiny little bar of soap and hand lotion.
The toilet was like one you'd see in a kindergarten, maybe 10-11 inches off the ground...very odd for a taller person.

The front desk was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast staff had trouble with simple orders and fulfilling the order. I was told our stay included breakfast but it was questioned and still don’t know if the charge includes the breakfast because my emailed receipt was $150 and the credit card charge is $180. I am thinking that our breakfast was just charged to our card.

Hugely disappointed as the website said the hotel was great for families and was 10 min from Dulles airport. It turned out to be 20 minutes/$53 cab ride and return would be 45 min back to the airport due to rush hour traffic. Definitely not the hotel to stay in for one night airport stay.

This original courtyard is the definition of lipstick on a pig. It's a functional hotel if you need it for travel sports; random concert; a night in Fairfax. It's not the worst hotel, but it's probably time for Marriott to tear it down and build new. Our door didn't latch properly, the bathrooms were jerry rigged, the carpet in the rooms held a lot of, well, smells.

4 out of 10 wouldn’t recommend
It needs to be updated. The TV is half analog half digital so most channels are fuzzy or just say no service. There’s no ability to stream Netflix or any other service.
It feels like a super 7 that people live in but there’s also no microwave. Originally I was going to stay 10 days, I was so uncomfortable I moved after 2 and for the same amount of money the Hilton Fairfax is a 5 star resort compared to this place.

I made a reservation for 2 double beds, but I was informed upon my arrival that they only had a King with a pullout. What’s the point of reserving a certain type of room if it is not available. As you can imagine, the pullout was not comfortable for the other person.

The check in clerk told me that no one would be in the lobby bar/restaurant in the evening. (We arrived around 5PM.) We would have preferred eating in rather than going out for dinner and so, were disappointed.
The lobby was open at breakfast.

Disappointed for a Courtyard Marriot
Arrived at 4:15 only to learn that the room was not ready yet. Check-in was 4:00 pm which is already fairly late IMO.
The room was clean, but bathroom was dirty. Toilet didn't flush correctly and the air condition did not work. Did not realized this until about 12:30 am when we arrived back from the concert. Forced to sleep in the hot room because it was so late. The breakfast was overpriced and the TV at the table did not work. Really disappointed for the money.

Good clean stay.
The hotel was nice. The room was spacious and clean. No microwave in the room so we had to use the one downstairs. It worked fine. It just wasn’t convenient for carrying hot food. The gym was functional but limited weights. No breakfast is a bit of a bummer when traveling but we had a good stay.

They did not honor what we paid for through Expedia. What Expedia had advertised was not the case. Down graded room, no Continental breakfast, pool out of order. Rude staff. They kept saying, you didn't book through us, nothing we can do.

Over all the condition of the hotel was good but the cable to the tv kept falling out. Also tv's had limited channels. When I pulled the cable cord up to reinsert it there was a condom stuck to it. Unacceptable! The air conditioner in the bedroom of our suite leaked getting a bag of ours wet.

The check in went well. They gave us information about the hotel and housekeeping (which stated they came by with towels and garbage pickup on day 3 until you called and requested not. So on the four day and no towels I went the front desk and was told that I had to call if I wanted towels (with was the Opposite on their checkin sheet). Also they only have a Starbucks on site, no complementary coffee. I personal hate Starbucks so I went other places. The room was very nice, but the halls were noisy at times with kids running up and down them. There is fire place in the outside Courtyard and that was noisy at times. The fitness center was good and clean, it the pool was closed until Further notice. For the price it was just okay, I have not stayed at any other Courtyard by Marriott so it is hard to saw if this was the way all are or wAs it just this hotel. It definitely was not the worst or the best hotel I have stayed .

Unbelievably great hotel.
This hotel was a great place to stay. The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious, and the staff was friendly. The location had stores in walking distance. My next trip here this hotel will be my choice. You can't go wrong by staying.

Room was comfortable. One night I got off the elevator and the hallway reaked of Marijuana. Very irritating that they don't clean the room or empty trash on a 5 day stay. Not all the cable channels worked that they were supposed to have. Beds were very comfortable though.

This hotel is located in a central location. Overall it was a great stay. Rooms are updated and staff was great.
Let’s talk about the two things that really matter. Bed comfort and water pressure.
The bed was ok. Not as comfortable as some other hotels, but it’s good. I give it a 7 out of 10.
Water pressure when using the shower was ridiculous. Felt like a garden hose over my head. Water pressure gets a 1 out of 10. It’s that bad.
Would I stay here again?
No, because the water pressure was horrible. There are plenty of hotels in Fairfax.

The place was very inviting. Everything clean and orderly. My only complaint was the mattress which honestly surprised me. Usually i never notice but the mattress was as hard as a rock. Felt like i was sleeping on a slab of concrete covered by a sheet.

Unsatisfactory stay
Room was small, need to remove tubs and replace with showers , no reason to have a tub in hotel bathroom. TV was the worst gave a list of about 30 stations but only maybe 10 worked news and children’s channels were available.
